You know that moment when you accidentally type your name instead of "(Y/N)"? That happened like 10 times when writing this chapter.

"Alright, everything begins with your stance", Pearl explained to me, straightening my posture. "Remember...".

I raised a perplexed brow, "Are you going to start singing?".

♫And you would do it again ♫

"Oh boy", I sighed.

♫ You do it for her, that is to say,

You'll do it for him ♫

For her?

Pearl began guiding me, cautiously. Almost as if she was anxious I would unexpectedly hit her. But, I don't blame her, considering my confidence was just a facade to cover up the fact that I had no idea what I was doing. Steven watched explicitly from his seat, not noticing how agitated he was getting.

♫ Keep your stance wide,

Keep your body lowered,

As you're moving forward,

Balance is the key ♫

I corrected my posture just as Pearl said. Well, in this case, she sang. She stood in front of me, holding her sword up as if she was ready to strike me. That only filled me up with more adrenaline.

♫ Right foot; left foot

Now go even faster ♫

I followed her instructions, moving my body forwards and backwards, gradually picking up the pace. I glanced over my shoulder, unsure if I was about to run into something. Pearl sent me a rigid look.

♫ And as you're moving backwards,

Keep your eyes on me. ♫

Pearl suddenly replaced herself with Holo-Pearl, which made me a little uneasy. She wanted me to fight it. I wasn't sure if it was me being too focused on the training, or if I actually went insane, but I began to start singing softly under my breath, that barely anyone could hear.

♫ Keep my stance wide ♫

"Good".

♫ Keep my body lowered ♫

"Right".

♫ As I'm moving forward... ♫

"Concentrate!", Pearl sternly interrupted me, with a grave frown in her face. Steven crossed his index and middle fingers together on both hands with anticipation.

"Don't you want him to live?!".

I lost my focus momentarily, glancing at Steven's apprehensive expression. Of course, I want him to live, that's the whole reason I'm doing this. I instantly regained my stance, as Holo-Pearl went in to attack me. Steven's fingers tightened over each other. I tried to think back to my fencing lessons, the strategies I was taught, the movements I learned. I managed to swiftly dodge Holo-Pearl's attack.
