ALEXI

The twins made sure to brief me on the importance of only eating food they had prepared. I was not allowed to leave the house without either of them. The same goes for leaving the third floor. After the discussion in the kitchen a week ago, the brothers had gotten even more protective of me. Erik had explained that whatever caused the bad dreams had been added to my food or drinks. It also explained the salty taste of my blood. Someone had been slipping me potions without anyone realizing it. Someone that knew who I was the same person that worked for whomever wanted me dead. I overhead them talking one night.

I was about to enter the living room when I heard my name. I knew that they were probably aware of me standing there, but none of them made a move to acknowledge my presence. The words Erik said made a bunch of questions fill my mind but I pushed them aside. I had to figure out how I felt about the twins before I could ask anymore questions. I've spend my nights laying in bed and thinking about them. I've repeated all the conversations we had. The small things they did for me.

I sucked in breath as I walked down the hall. I've watched TV for about an hour before getting bored. Slade said this morning that Fury would be staying with me today and I haven't seen him since this morning. Walking into the kitchen, I grabbed a water bottle from the fridge. I searched their study first. It was empty with no sign of him ever being in there.

My heartbeat started to increase as moans filled my ears. I gripped the water bottle tighter making my way towards the sound. It came from one of the guest bedrooms. I bit my lip as I stared at the door. The sounds started to increase so without giving it a second thought, I wrapped my hand around the doorhandle. It opened silently giving me a perfect view of the room.

Tears filled my eyes as I stared at the naked bodies on the bed. Fury laid on top of a woman with his face buried in her neck. Her legs were wrapped around his waist as he moved. My eyes fell on her hands that clawed at his back. The bottle slipped from my hand but it hardly registered. I span around stumbling down the hall. How could he? He said that I'm his mate and now he's having sex with another woman.

* * * *

I hugged the pillow tighter against my chest when I heard the bedroom door open. The tears had died down a few hours ago but still I refused to leave my room. I didn't have the strength to face them. If Fury did that, does that mean the Slade was doing the same? They refused to have sex with me and now-

"Lexi?" Slade said, softly.

I recoiled from his touch when he placed his hand on my hip. A few minutes of silence passed before he spoke.

"I made you something to eat. Fury said you haven't eaten anything since this morning."

The mention of him made my tears start all over again. It slowly dripped down my cheek onto the already damp pillow.

"Get out." The words came out softly thankfully with no hint of the emotions I felt.

"Alexi-"

"I said get out!" I yelled, throwing back the sheets and sitting up to glare at him.

His eyes widened when he saw the tears. Slade reached out but I slapped his hand away.

"Didn't you hear me? I said get out! I don't want your fucking food or anything else from you! I want to go home! I don't want to stay here anymore. I wish I never met either of you!" By the time I stopped yelling I was breathing heavily.

Slade was only a blurry image in front of me. I didn't care if my words hurt him. I wanted to make them feel as much pain as they made me feel. I wanted them to feel that ache in their hearts like it was in mine.

"Baby, what happened?"

He reached out again but I moved back. Crawling to the other side of the bed, I stood up on shaky legs.

"Get out!"

The door opened again. Fury entered the room silently, his eyes darting between us. He looked like the same man that held me last night. There wasn't a trace of the betrayal he had made today.

"Get out! Get out! Get out!" I repeated over and over at them. Fury stepped further into the room opening his mouth to speak.

I grabbed the first thing I could find and threw it at him. He dodged causing the lamp to smash into the wall behind him. I would've felt so much better if it hit him instead of the wall. He made a fool out of me, they both did. Waited until I let my guard down before dropping the mask. Was everything else they told me true? Or was it just lies to get me to stay?

"What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"You!" I glared at Fury. "I don't want to stay here anymore. I want to go home to my normal life and forget about this. I want to forget about this town and the fact that I've ever met you. I want to forget about the fact that I actually fell in love with the both of you, but you threw it all in my face. I get that we were married and maybe back them I used to love you, maybe back then things were different than it is now. But I'm not the same person I was then. I'm not the girl you married and I'm definitely not going to be some pushover you get to keep." I sucked in a breath turning back to Fury. "Go back to your slut. I don't need you! Either of you!"

A few minutes later the door closed loudly behind them.
