Chapter Twenty Four

ALEXI

My grip on Slade's hand tightened as we walked towards the entrance of the mall. Fury walked a few feet behind us, his eyes darting around. I could feel the eyes of the other shoppers around us, on me.

"Relax baby," Slade whispered in my ear.

I sucked in a deep breath trying to relax. After the talk in the kitchen with Fury, I had apologized to Slade as well. He only pulled me on for a hug telling me that it didn't matter. I still felt bad for what I said to them. They didn't deserve that. Their life was just as complicated as mine, the only difference was the fact that I'm human and they're not.

What Erik said still circled in my mind. They wanted to mate me. I stayed up most of last night googling it. Of course I didn't really find what I wanted to know. Although the mating referred mostly to common animals, I got the idea pretty soon. They wanted to have sex with me.

"We want to complete the mate bond," Fury said, suddenly next to me. I glanced up at him feeling the heat spread up my cheeks.

"Why are you reading my mind?"

He shrugged, giving me a smirk. "I wanted to know what had you so lost in your thoughts."

My attention snapped to Slade when he tugged on my hand. His eyes caught mine then moved to a shop in front of us. I stared at it, taking in all the expensive looking clothes. The twins wanted to buy me some more clothes before we travel in two days. We'll be going to their world to attend the coronation.

"Lexi?" I blinked glancing at Slade.

"Umm... can we go somewhere else instead?" I asked them softly.

"You don't have to worry about money princess. We want to do this for you. You can't walk around with sweatpants all the time and you need some personal items." Fury stroked my cheek as he spoke. "Allow us to care for you."

"I'll pay you back," I told them with determination. Slade clenched his jaw but said nothing when Fury shook his head.

I allowed them to lead me to all the different shops. They picked out some clothes while I did picked others. Thankfully they didn't follow me into the lingerie department. I chose some comfortable panties and a few sport bra's. My footsteps flattered as I passed the sexy panties and bra's. There was also some other clothes I didn't know the names of.

"Can I help you ma'am?"

I jumped, spinning around to face the woman. She gave me a bright smile. I bit my lip glancing behind her at the men. They stood on the other side of the shop staring at something. They both wanted to have sex with me and although the thought still scared me, my body was ready for them.

"Uu, hi. I want to surprise my...uu... boyfriend with-" I gestured to the underwear.

"Okay, what does he like? What's his favorite colour?" She fired questions one after the other.

I bit my lip, glancing at the twins again. Slade was staring at me with a smirk on his lips. He muttered something to his brother who turned. The colour in my cheeks deepened when he gave me a wink before turning around again.

Was he reading my mind? Could they hear us talking? Oh God what was I doing? We aren't ready for that step yet.

"Miss?" the salesclerk questioned.

"Thank you for your help, I think I'll leave it for now. Thank you." I hurried off before she could talk.

Gripping the undergarments to my chest I hurried towards the check-out. I dropped it by the pile of clothes I had chosen earlier. Not even a minute later the twins appeared at my side. The woman behind the counter started scanning the items before packing them neatly into a bag. Three bags later she gave the total which made my eyes widen. Fury didn't even blink an eye when he handed over his card. I grabbed two bags before Slade could take them all. He frowned down at me but said nothing. 

I followed the guys out of the shop. My eyes fell on the groups of teenagers mingling around. There were more people here now than earlier when we arrived.

"I'll take the bags to the car," Fury said, taking the bags from me. "Meet you at the food court."

I watched him until he disappeared between the crowds.  Slade gave me a small smile when I looked up at him. We said nothing as we started walking. My eyes took in everything. Even for a small town they had almost everything the big cities did.

"What would you like?" Slade asked, gesturing towards the different restaurants in front of us.

"Anything's fine," I muttered, glancing around. I followed Slade as he led us to a restaurant close to the exit.

He opened the door for me stepping in behind me. A waiter instantly stepped closer giving us a bright smile.

"Good evening, table for?"

"Three."

"Right, please follow me." She span around grabbing three menu's before leading us to a table at the back.

I slid in first thanking her for the menu. A few seconds later she left us alone with a promise to return in a few minutes. I opened the menu scanning the different contents. After deciding on some chicken mayo sandwiches, I closed it turning to Slade. He was leaning back in the seat watching me silently.

"What?"

"Nothing," his lips twitched. "Why didn't you take the underwear?"

I quickly looked away pretending to study the back of the menu. "I don't know what you mean."

The waiter appeared. I gave her my order listening as he did the same. He only ordered a glass of water for Fury making me frown. Once the waiter had left, I turned towards him.

"You didn't order Fury anything."

"He probably wouldn't eat it," he said. "Tell me baby, are you scared of us?"

I blinked up at him. "Why would you ask that?"

"Sometimes you're cautious around us. We would never hurt you Lexi."

"I know that," I whispered. "I'm just... I'm trying to understand you guys. You're different and I don't want to say or do anything wrong."

Slade reached out cupping my cheek. His other hand wrapped around my hip pulling me closer towards him.

"We're just like you. We're human baby, we just have some advantages. Our sense are more advanced than yours, that's it."

"You change into a wolf."

"Mmm," his lips brushed mine. "You don't like my wolf baby?"

"He's beautiful," I whispered, feeling completely breathless.

"He wants you Lexi, I want you." Slade closed the distance between us. His lips brushed mine as he deepened the kiss. I parted my lips, moaning when his tongue slipped into my mouth. I suddenly felt another set of lips brushing against the back of my neck.

Breaking the kiss, another quiet moan fell from my lips. Fury nibbled the skin beneath my ear. I've forgotten about the fact that we were on public. Our moment was broken when the waiter appeared with our drinks.
