I sat on the stairs for many hours, staring at my hands. I was mad, scared, sad, worried, any emotion you can think of I felt. I stood up and went to say goodbye to Jessie, I couldn't see her soul. She must have left before I got to her. Same with mama and aunty, I was to late for any of them. I walked over to Jessie's body and kissed her forehead. "Only if I haven't left you alone. Only if I just. . ." I cried so hard that I had to shut my eyes.

After several attepts of calming myself  I got up and walked back to the room where my aunt layed in bed. I looked up at the blood written words. I stood there staring at it, the blood made it hard to read. 'Why? Why me? I didn't ask for this.' I felt like screaming and crying and breaking things but instead  I stood still and stared.

"Why? Just why?" I whispered.

I left the house with my bag and walked to the nearest police station and reported a break in. I told them what I witnessed and they went to have me show them the house.

"I'm not going back in there." I said to the officer. They repected my decision and they went in as i sat on the ground next to tree.

I became very tired, "Miss is this your doll?" Asked an officer.

"Yes thank you." It was actually Jessie's doll, mine is in my bag. He nods and escorts me onto into a carriage.

"Do you have any family here in town?" He asked.

"No sir." He sighs. "I'm an orphan, you might as well take me back to the orphanage." I said as I hugged the doll tightly.

He closed the carriage door and got the horses ready to go.

Several trees past by as we rode to the orphanage, it was peaceful. I tried several times on trying not to cry on the way. 'who would do this kind of thing?' I thought as I looked out the window.

"We are here, you ready miss?" The officer asked as he opened the door for me.

"No but might as well be." I said as I climed out. I noticed I was still covered in blood from my knees down. I looked up at the windows and noticed many children were staring down at me. All the sisters that worked there seemed frightened.

"I'll tell them you go change." The officer said as he walked over to one of the lady's. One passed out after hearing the horrible news. One cried louder than I did, and the last one just seemed shocked while holding the one that passed out.

I went to my old room and layed my bag onto the bed. There was a girl in Jessie's old bed. She looked at me once and turned pale from fear. "What happened to you?" She asked me as she clentched hee blanket. I stayed quiet and unpacked my bag.

I felt the energy from many different children standing at my door. I ignored them and climed into bed hugging both of the dolls and slept.

----------

A black void surrounded me. I began to fall endlessly, hoping to feel the ground soon. "Im sorry." I said as I felt my tears float up off my face.

'Its not your fault.' Said a womens voice.'it was bound to happen eventually.' She said.

"She do you mean?" I sniffled a little.

'You are a child after all.' She sounded like she was next to me.
' you are only just learning about yourself and what you are capable of.'

"But Jessie and mama, I lost them both." I cried "only if I felt the presence earlier I would have been able to save them-"

'hush no more talk, we will talk when the time is right. But for now wake up and continue your journey of life.'
A pure white void surrounded me as I finally touched the ground I woke up.
----------

I woke up to the sound of whispers outside my door. I guess my new roommate forgot to close the door when she left the room. I got up to close it, but I was stopped when I noticed they were talking about me. I held to the doorhandle and listen in.

"I heard she killed them." Said one lady.

"That's insane, what if she lashes out on the other children? Should we even keep her here?" Said the other. I noticed they began to walk away,

"I don't know but if the rumor is true maybe we should transfer her to a different orphanage." One said.

I'm leaving in a few years so don't worry." I thought as I closed the door all the way and went back to my bed and played with Jessie's dolls hair. I forgot we made our dolls look like us. I sighed heavily and layed in the bed for what felt like hours.

I finally dressed out of my bloody gown and changed into my night gown and layed back in my bed. A few moments later I heard a knock on my door. "Go away." I said as I faced away from the door.

"It's Miss Lizzy, can I please come in?"

I sighed softly. "Fine." I groaned. She walked in and sat on the foot of my bed.

"I heard what happend." I felt like crying but I only clentched onto Jessie's doll. "I'm sorry for what happend to you, no child should have to go through that." She pauses then adds, "nobody should."

"But I brought you lunch for just in case you were hungry."

I've must have slept all day if it's noon.' I thought as I looked over at her. "Thanks but I lost my appetite." I said as I thought about mama.

"I would have too but you do need to eat." She said as she set the tray on the table acrross the room.

"No thanks just give it to the other children I'm sure one of them is still hungry." I said as I sat up a little.

"If you ever need anyone remember you can always speak to me." She said as she picked up they tray and walked out with it.
