chapter 34

I drop my book and run after them, they pick up their pace. I appeared in front of the male that held Jacob he stops and steps back. "Don't come any closer." He digs under his robe i see a glimpse of his jeans underneath. He pulls a small gun from his belt and points it at me.

"Or i will shoot you." He says as he takes another step back. "Then shoot me." I said as i took a step closer. "Excuse me?"

"Did i stutter?" I stepped closer as he steps back. My hands remain down at my sides as i formed a diamond dagger in my hand.

Before either of us can attack the last cloaked member yells out. "THE BOOK! WE FOUND IT! IT'S RIGHT HERE!!" She yells out on top of her lungs as she holds my book over her head.

The male that held Jacob laughed "it looks like you have choices."

I smiled and stepped closer. "You are wrong." I raised my hand to throw the dagger when out of no where Jacob bites the male on the back of his neck. He screams and drops Jacob onto the ground as a he fires his gun into the air.

I pick Jacob up and carry him back the building. I kept running with him in my arms "hold on tight." He clenches his tiny hands onto my shirt.

I use my demonic strength and punched the female in her stomach. She crashed into the wall of the building causing it to shake as she drops the book. I pick my book up and hand to Jacob as i set him down. "Hide." I spoke softly and calm like to him. He nods and runs to the shadows and hides in a corner behind some fallen large size pieces of the building.

"Now two left." I walk back to the male as he stands at the door frame holding his neck then looked at his hand. I noticed Jacob bit him hard, the smell of this mans blood....it smelled sweet.

'Darius....what is this? I thought it was souls I needed?'

'You still have lots to learn.' He chuckles a bit.
'blood is like a last resort along with the humans energy, those are both another way for you take their souls.'

I smiled at that and stood a few feet from him. Without any words escaping our lips he fires his gun at me. I take the hit in the shoulder, the black smoke that surrounds my body forms around me almost like a shield. He fires again, it stops inches from my chest. "You know what, i haven't ate in months, maybe i could enjoy a quick snack."

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?!?!" He yells at me as he fires the rest of his bullets at me. All of the bullets stop inches from my body, with out a word i appear in front of him and held his arm that had the gun. I kept my smile as his eye's become filled with fear. The smell of his blood filled my nose, I used my other hand and grabbed him by the neck and lifted him off the ground by a few inches.

"Shall i kill you first or let you suffer like your victim's?" I paused and watched him squirm as he holds onto my arm, then hitting it thinking he could break free. I smiled and ripped his arm off, he begins to scream. I quickly tighten my grip on his neck to where he can still breath but unable to speak or even wimpier.

His blood soaked my shirt and my hand I lick my finger and looked up at him. "Someone is still a virgin." I laughed lightly, "poor guy he's going to die a virgin."

I licked the rest of my fingers, he looks down at me. "Make your final prayer to your god." I squeeze his neck harder cutting his air off and watch him squirm more until he stops. Before he dies i bring him down to my height and moved my hand then bit deep into his neck.

As i drained him of every last drop of blood he had i dropped his lifeless body and looked at Ronda. She saw everything, 'Run and if you tell anyone what you saw tonight i will find you and kill You.' I spoke to her through her panicked thoughts.

She gulped hard and ran away, I looked back at the corner where Jacob is waiting. I walked towards him as the black smoke around my body fades into the air. "Can i come out now?" He asked softly. "Yes it's safe now." I stepped closer to him, before he steps out of the shadows my form fades to a "normal" human appearance.

"Are you going to hurt me too?" He steps back as more tears fall down his cheeks. "No of course not." I rest my hand on his shoulder and smiled.

I wipe the blood off my lips and chin with my shirt. "Come on now i have to clean you up." I took my book from him and held his tiny hand as we walked over to my bag that i left behind.

He yawns and rubs his eye's. "Maybe we should rest before i take you back to your town." I grab a random shirt from my bag and wipe his face and made him blow his nose. I rolled the shirt into a small ball. "Hey, wanna see a magic trick?" His mood changes from frightened to excited almost instantly.

We sit down in the snow as i bundle him up in a few more of my jackets then placed one under him so he doesn't get his pants wet. After he was warm i picked up the dirty shirt and held it with both hands. "Ok now pick a color pink or purple." He thinks for a moment then smiles again "pink!" I chuckled a bit then concentrated on the shirt.

"Now say the magic words."

"Abracadabra!" He spoke loudly and laughed as he leans forward interested.

I laugh lightly "now blow on it then quickly lean away."

He blows on it as hard as he can then does as asked. Almost instantly the shirt bursts up into pink flames with a purple tint.

His eye's light up even more and smiled big as he sees the large flame. "That's so coo!" He yells in excitement as he watches the flames.

I kept my smile as i kept the flame going even though the shirt has already turned to ashes. He yawns and rests his head on my lap, I was a bit shocked by his action. But i simply rest my hand on his head and run my fingers through his short hair comforting him a bit as he drifts off to his dream land.

'Don't get to attached to this kid violet.'

'hush Darius, don't ruin the moment.' I smiled as i looked up at the snow clouds as they slowly begin to break apart letting the moons rays shine down, it was a beautiful night.
