"I'm driving with Jacob" I say to Jack over the phone.
He's trying to get me to go with him and Gabbie to the competition... no.
He NEVER stops talking about her. They've been dating for a week. He's convinced he's 'in love' with her.
Alex and I went surfing the other day together, he's amazing at surfing. He taught me some skills and hopefully I'll win this competition.
"Did you put the board in the truck" Jacob shouts up
"Yeah, just check" I shout down. Don't wanna forget my board.
I was putting my swimsuit on. I'm wearing a red one with my number sewed onto the side of the bottoms. Like all my swimsuits I wear for competitions.
"10 minutes" he shouts up
I tie my hair in a tight ponytail and then tie it into a bun and clip it in place.
I bring my throw over which was just white and grab my slides.
[me] - I'm leaving now, see u and Gabbie soon!
[jack] - we're already @ the beach.
[me] - c u soon
I grab my bag and run down the stairs
We get in the truck and he starts driving "how's Jack"
"Good" I nod
"He hasn't been round in a while, why's that?" He asks
"Because his girlfriend" I move my tongue to one side of my mouth
"Are they coming" he looks at me for a split second
"Yeah, I'm meeting her for the first time properly... so... yeah" I itch my nose "call me over as soon as Jack spots me so I cannot meet her"
He laughs a little and we park up.
There was not 20 contestants. Jack lied.
There was like 40... maybe more.
"Don't worry or stress over it. You'll be fine" Jacob smiles
I take a breath and grab my board
"Sky, Hey" Alex runs up to me, shirtless. He usually wears a a shirt but damnnn... he's hot.
"Hey" I stick my board in the sand
"I signed up for you... the thing was closing and you wasn't here" he hands me my sticker
I already knew I was number 16 but I needed to put the sticker on my board.
We walk down the beach with Jacob just behind us.
"Sky, Hey" someone runs up behind me and hugs me
"Oh, Hey" I smile
"Gabbie's just with her brother, she can't wait to meet you" he gives Alex a weird looks and then looks back at me
"Oh, Cool. I'm gonna go get ready" I grab Alex's hand and walk away
