"Jacob what do you mean we have a brother. Don't lie to me" I shake my head

"Skylar. I'm not lying" He throws a brown envelope onto my knee.

I look down and he gives me a look to open it.

I slide my finger across the rip on the top of the envelope. I take out the paper with a whole identification check on a guy. But no picture.

"Taylor Bishop....This name sounds so familiar" I sigh "This is a joke, Jake we don't have a brother, Don't you think we would've found out... Mom and dad are awful at keeping secrets"

"Skylar read the damn thing. It's not a joke... And i've known for quite a while" He chews on the inside of his lip.

"Taylor bishop, 20, from susquehanna, Grew up in Canada, Lives in Los Angeles" I scan my eyes through the important parts of the background check. "Jacob c'mon, This could be anyone..." I refuse to believe i have another brother.

"Sky i ran a full check on him and even met him in person...So have you... He might've looked a little different though" He pulls a chair round my side "He is our brother"

"How do...when did i meet him" I'm taken back by this.

"Remember that formal thing... He was the one walking you to Jack... He also was the one you met in that neighbourhood the other month" He sighs "I didn't want you going back there in case it was true... I needed to know you're ready for this"

"How long have you known" I raise my eyebrow

"A couple years... I finally think your ready, Skylar... We're not your real brothers" He takes a deep breath.

That i know is bullshit.

"Don't fucking lie to me Jake" I stand up.

"Ask mom... We have different dads. My surname isn't fitzgerald, It was Bishop, Like Taylor's but mom got custody of me and wanted to keep fitzgerald" He's not making no sense

"It's true, Skylar" Sydnie walks into the office. Haven't seen or heard from her in a while

"And how would you know" I snap

"Because i'm just back from meeting with your mother... She confirmed it. believe me skylar... It's true" She kneels down.

"Why are you only telling me now" I wanted to cry for some reason. I felt betrayed that Jacob lied to me but shocked that i have a brother i never knew about for 19 years.

"Because you're fit to know now... We're meeting him later on, beach dinner. Real family... Me, You, Him... Being Jack if you want" He takes the envelope of me

"What does he look like now" He couldn't of changed that much from the formal. What was he even doing at the formal.

Jacob opens his phone and shows me a picture. We have the same hair colour, He's darker than me, Hes like Jacob, quite tan. He's got curly hair, shorter than at the formal. His stubbles gone too.

"Start getting ready for this dinner" He locks his phone

"Why's the real reason you hid it for me for so long" I know he's bullshitting that excuse

"Because you're so happy sky, Happier then i've ever seen and i didn't want to drop something this big on you until i felt like you were stable enough to get through it without having one of your...episodes" His voice fades off
