TWENTY-SIX

I was warming up.

The competition was today.

That wasn't the only thing on my mind though... Jack and I fucked.

Not once

Not twice

But 3 times....

I haven't told anyone and it's all been caught up in the moment.

I need to stop thinking off it if I want to do good in this competition.

I look at the other girls and just stretch even more.

I was in the queue and we were waiting

There must've been about 100 girls here. I was more nervous than ever.

I decided to get my mind off what's happened between Jack and I, I would think about Zach.

It didn't help but make things worse.

I was on the urge of dropping out this competition that's how bad my overthinking was.

I take a breather and just relax. My shoulders and everything.

I breath in through my nose and put through my mouth. Just like Jacob always told me too.

I relax. I don't overthink.

I get over all my problems and focus on nothing but the sea.

Not to anyone around me

Not to my own thoughts.

Just the deep blue ocean.

The whistle blows and piles of girls start running into the ocean.

Paddling and standing.

I was among the paddlers. Just like how I usually am at home.

I did come to practice here and the waves are amazing to surf.

The first wave comes and I successfully surf it, making sure not to look back at who else has surfed it.

Rule : if you don't surf the first wave. You're automatically out.

I wonder how many girls get out but then focus my mind back onto the next wave.

This one was huge.

I did it. I surfed every wave that came my way but 1. The ocean was still for a while but I can sense whenever a good wave is coming. That was probably the best wave I've ever surfed.

I get back to the shore and head to where everyone was sitting.

Results are out in 30 minutes. I hope I did good. I hope to make top 5.

"You were amazing out there" Jack squeezes me in a hug

"Thanks" I set my board down

"Honestly Sky, you smashed it" Sydnie agreed, hugging me like Jack did.  

They all hug me and congratulate me on how good I did

I sit between Christina and Jack and he hands me a ice cream "I saved some for you"

"Josiah just went to buy that now" I raise an eyebrow at him

"Let me be funny" he moves his lips to one side of his mouth

"Sorry, thank you Jack for saving this ice cream for me" I say sarcastically and lick it

"We need to talk" he leans over and whispers into my ear
