TWENTY- FOUR

I just picked Josiah, Marcus and for some reason Jack up. At the airport.

We're all sitting in awkward silence at the traffic light.

I want to ask what they know.

I know they want to ask me about it, if I'm okay and everything but they won't.

Jack was in the front with me. Josiah and Marcus in the back.

My phone starts to ring and it was Zach on the line, obviously.

"Hey, uh... Jack. Do you mind opening that window for me" I grab my phone

He pushes the button, making the window slowly disappear

I throw my phone out the window and speed through the yellow light

"Skylar" Josiah gasps

I look at him through the rear mirror but then put my eyes back on the road

"Are you okay?" Marcus asks

"Yeah" I snap. Of course I'm not okay.

"You're lying" Jack says

"No, I'm completely fine" I wanted to cry

"Why are you about to cry then" He looks at me.

"I'm not. I'm like..." I rest my bottom lip between my teeth, trying not to cry. "On my period"

"Skylar stop lying..." Josiah says

"I'm not lying" I pull into our driveway.

I get out and, completely ignoring them all, run upstairs, locking my bedroom door.

"Sky" I hear Jacobs voice

I don't answer but splash my face with cold water.

I'm breaking down slowly on the inside.

"Hey" Jack walks into my room whenever I walk out my bathroom

We just look at each other for a moment. Staring at each other's eyes.

I run into his arms, flinging my arms over his shoulders. His arms snake around my waist and he holds me.

He knows I break down crying and rubs my back slightly "it'll be alright" he whispers

"I'm so sorry" I whimper

"It's not your fault Skylar. It's him. I thought he would have changed the first time but clearly not..."

"Hey princess" Mom walks in

I pull away from Jack and he wipes my tears.

"I'm gonna be downstairs if you need me" He smiles and walks off

I sit on my bed and Mom sits beside me. "You know... i was your age once, and I remember whenever my boyfriend of 3 years was caught cheating... in my house. Whenever nan was in hospital with grandpa... I asked him if he could look after the house while I visit her... and I walked in after leaving him alone for 9 hours. He was laying in my room. In my bed. With a girl. A girl who used to bully me in school.... I was really sad, and depressed about it for weeks on end. I went out to a night club a couple months later  and met your father. He made me feel like no one else. I know you're hurting right now Skylar. I know what you're going through. From the things I was told about Zach. He seemed like a lovely boy. And for him to just go and break my little girls heart. God how I hate him for that." She lets a tear slip. She sees me bawling my eyes out and wipes my cheeks with her sleeve

"I don't want you to push your friends, your brother away. I want you to talk to them. They will all give you amazing advice and Skylar you can stay here for as long as you possibly want... you don't need to rush back to LA any time soon okay. Take your time to get back on your feet. But keep that head held high. Always look to the sky when you need cheering up" she smiles. Dad always used to say that to me
