Dani's POV

"Cal I don't think that that's a good idea." I told him through the phone. We were face timing each other while we were both doing homework.

"Why not? It's a perfect idea!" He exclaimed. I put my pencil down and put my face into my hands. I took a deep breath and told him, "Cal, I can't take it when I see him on campus, we can't even make small talk with each other. Let alone hang out with our old friend group. It would be so awkward." Cal was trying to get all of us to hang out again when we're all home for Christmas break.

"Dani, I'm telling you. It's probably not even going to be awkward. Luke's not like that especially with everyone around him. He'll act like we're all friends again. Like how you guys were before dating."

"Well, before we were dating, you guys used to bully me." I said with a straight face.

"Oh shit.. You're right. I'm so sorry about that. That was a bad example." I started laughing, which made Calum very confused.

"Cal, I don't care anymore! But if it's gonna be like that when we hang out, I rather have that then all of you guys be weirdly quiet." I smiled. Part of me wanted to hang out with Luke but the other part of me also doesn't. Knowing me, after we hangout, I'll have the hugest crush on him again. I'm probably like 70% over him. Collin's been so good to me. But also I feel like that's going nowhere.

"Dani!" Cal yelled. I snapped out of my thoughts.

"What? Sorry. What did you say?"

"I said, so is it a plan?"

"Yeah I guess.."

After my FaceTime call with Cal, I decided to go get food from the cafeteria. When I went down there, it was packed as hell. I walked over to the line and waited. Once I was close to the front, I could see the menu and picked the order I usually get. Chicken breast, rice, and potato salad. While on line, I saw the person handing out the food containers, sneezed. I tried to hide my disgusted face but it was pretty gross. She looked horrible. Her nose was red and runny, her eyes were kinda swollen and she just looked really pale. Thank god the food was already in a container. I hoped she wouldn't touch my food. It was my turn to order. I ordered and the lady went over to the back and got my order out. I cringed at the sight of her touching my container. I swiped my id card and thanked her. While I was walking away I heard her sneeze again. I immediately got napkins and tried to wipe the container of its non visible germs. I carried on to my dorm, eventually forgetting the experience. I ate it happily while watching tv.

I woke up the following morning like a bus hit me. I couldn't breath from my nose, I had an aching headache and I felt super weak. I asked Evie if we had a thermometer and she told me no. I decided to go to the health center on campus, with the very little energy I had. On my way there I think I sneezed 100 times. I finally got there, signed some papers, and explained that I felt horrible. The nurse told me to wait in the waiting room for the doctor to check up on me. I waited patiently, almost taking a nap because it was early, but also because I felt like I was dying. The nurse called me into the room. She took my blood pressure, weight, and height. She then asked me the symptoms. "Well, my throat hurts, my nose is congested, I'm coughing, sneezing every minute, I'm weak and I have an excruciating headache." She nodded and took the information down in my folder. "The doctor will be in shortly."

After waiting about 10 minutes, the doctor came in. "Hello Ms. Gray, how are you today?" She said.

"Not so good. I've been better." I chuckled a bit.
