Three months later

Dani's POV

It was already the end of the second semester and I couldn't be happier. I've been a thing with Angelo for the past two months and it's been great. I feel like I've finally achieved genuine happiness and I haven't felt like this in a long time.

I was in my room getting ready for William's job's initiation gala. It was a fancy dinner to initiate the new police officers that got recruited to Sydney's police department. I did a gold shimmery eye makeup along with a nude pink lipstick. My hair was curled and put in a half up ponytail and the rest was down. After I finished my makeup, I put on my dress. My dress was super simple but the whole look together was perfect. It was a two piece navy blue dress. The top was spaghetti strapped with a v neckline. The back the straps crossed and it had a gold zipper. The skirt was a high waisted long skirt with a leg slit on the right. It was form fitting at the top but draped at the bottom. After, I put on my jewelry. I put a layered thin gold necklace on, gold bracelets and a gold armband. I looked in the mirror once more and enjoyed the view. I finished just in time since my mom called me down. "Daniela, Angelo's here!" I slipped on my gold sparkly heels and went downstairs to see my family.

"Wow... Dani you look so beautiful." I heard my mom say. I smiled at her and thanked her. I saw Angelo was talking to William, with his back turned to me. He slowly turned and saw me. His jaw nearly dropped down to the floor.

"Dani... Wow." He said, walking over to me. I smiled at him and looked at his outfit.

"You don't look too bad yourself." He kissed me softly. Angelo was wearing a simple black and white tux with a black bowtie.

"Oh before I forget." He said, while pulling away from the kiss. He walked into the kitchen then appeared with a little box. "I got you a corsage." He smiled. I smiled back and stuck out my hand for him to put it on. He opened the box and revealed a white flower corsage. The band was gold just like my accessories. He slipped the corsage onto my wrist, with my family watching us intently. "You guys are too cute." My mom said. I rolled my eyes which caused Angelo to laugh.

"What about me?" I heard a voice say from the top of the stairs. I turned around and saw Sammy dressed in a tux with a navy blue tie. I smiled at his attempt to match me. "You look great, Sam." I told him.

"Thank you very much." He said while coming down the stairs. My mom kissed his cheek and he immediately rubbed it off. "Mom, stoppp." He groaned, causing everyone to laugh.

"Let's get going?" William questioned. Everyone agreed and we went outside to William's car. He drove a Cadillac Escalade, which was perfect for the occasion in my opinion. The venue wasn't far from our house. So it was a short ride.

We got to the venue and so many people were dressed so elegantly. The valet took the car, leaving us to go inside. The room they rented out for this dinner was huge. I didn't realize how many cops there actually was. We got to our table and I was still amazed at how many people were here.

"Not all of them are cops." I heard William whisper in my ear.

"Huh?" I turned to face him.

"A majority of them are family members, since we're required to bring all of our family. They also combine the gala with the neighboring town since it's better for more people to come." He said, leaving me interested. It was not long till the event actually started. I'm guessing the chief of the whole department got up on stage. He introduced himself and welcomed us to the gala. He also mentioned that the ceremony will actually start in an hour or so. After he was done, Angelo and I went to get some food.
