Lockwood Mansion

The Masquerade ball was a success. Possibly Hundreds of people showed up. Veronica sat around her fathers desk looking into the tiny mirror as she finished the touch ups of her lipstick. Her mother entering the room. "It's all ready packed out there. You know, we need to keep that door shut. Your father would be very unhappy if I let guests in here."

Veronica stood up and began to flatten her dress. "Oh, look at you. So beautiful!" Her mother gushed.

She smiled. Thank you. You look pretty nice too, Mom."

"Oh, a compliment- I think I'll fall over." Carol joked earning a chuckle. "Anyway. Mom, I'm sorry I've been so distant lately. It's just, have you heard from Mason?"

"No, and I don't think we're going to. He's coming. He's going. It's just his way. He's the exact opposite of your father."

Tyler walked into the room to join his family. Looking dapper in his suit. "We should've cancelled this party."

"This whole masquerade theme was his idea." She said trailing off picking up picture of their beautiful family to look at. "I don't know what it has to do with helping the homeless but once he made up his mind, he could really be a dick. A jerk. But I loved him. And I know you two did, too. It's natural to feel abandoned. I just don't want you to feel alone."

"Put your mask on." Veronica demanded her mother. "And let's party."

"I think I need a cocktail first." Her mother laughed.

Veronica stood a table taking to her brother who had recently had a little bit to drink deep in conversation. "Ronnie?" A very familiar voice greeted. "Kevin." She turned to face her first love. "I'm gonna go find Matt." Tyler ran away as fast as he could.

"Wanna dance?"

"Sure."

Her arms were wrapped around his neck, his around her waist. They began swaying with the music. "I'm sorry I wasn't there when your dad died."

"It's okay." She smiled. She giggled when he spun her under his arm. "No, it's not. You were there for me when mine died."

The two had danced almost all night. "Get me some lemonade."

"No." He chuckled.

"Please get me some lemonade." She emphasised the please.

He chuckled. "When you say it like that." He teased and walked to get her that lemonade.

"Hi!" Jennifer perked as she stood next to the raven haired girl. "Hey Jen."
