When I finally got to my abode, Astrid had her hand held up about to knock. The others also seemed unaware that I was there, rambling about a subject I couldn't place my finger on because of how quiet their voices were from this far away. Right when Astrid was about to touch the wood I ran up and shouted "Boo!"
"AH!!!!" They seemed to reply at the same time. I busted out in laughter, seeing humans shout out in terror was always good fun. I ended up wheezing and fell on all fours dying of laughter, tears brimmed at my eyes in joy.
Wiping them away I finally calmed down and stood up, "You guys should've seen the looks on your faces! It was hilarious." They chuckled a bit to show that they weren't scared anymore. Astrid had her hands on her hips, leaning to the side, but couldn't help the grin that was latched on her face.
~time skip cuz good plot is coming~
Training for the day wasn't that bad, I mean, I even learned something about myself! I can act faster and safer in a situation when I'm distracted with a thought, all day I kept asking myself why Hiccup had a hand-crafted half tail and how he knew of the body shape of a night fury if no one else in this village did. Finally lunch came by, I finished mine quickly and sat outside of the great hall, watching the people walk to and fro. From the corner of my eye I saw Hiccup sneaking out of the great hall, even checking to make sure I wasn't watching him. I closed my eyes, pretending to enjoy the bliss of the soft sun and rather quietness of the village, peeking one open after a while to see him look back one more time but continue walking. I stood up brushing myself off before trailing behind him. He stopped for a moment at his house, I hid on the side of it, gazing at the horizon where the sun wouldn't set for more then a few hours, finally Hiccup came back out with a helmet on, clutching a shield. Breathing in to sigh I caught the scent of fish on him, raw too. Why did he have raw fish?
He had gone into the forest where they found me, going much further into it, there was a big marking on the ground that seemed as if something hit it and rolled further down. Even breaking a tree branch, at the end of the mark were cut ropes with big silver balls on the end. Hiccup eyed them as if remembering something and continued on. Still following him, he came across an open area, I found a spot to see through the trees but still not be seen by Hiccup.
In the large creator there were rock formations and even a lake but nothing really special. Hiccup started to scale down on rocks on the sides of the wall. 'What in the world is he going in there for' I thought to myself, still eyeing him confused. He peered around and hid between two rocks, thinking it was safe him, he tried walking into the open, shield out incase the nothing that was there attacked, then got his shield stuck between the rocks. I smirked becoming amused, 'have fun getting that unstuck'. He slid under the shield and checked to see if it wasn't as stuck as he thought it was, results weren't good for him. He held his hand close to where his tiny dagger was kept just in case. I sat down and dangled my legs off the edge, leaning my hands back, resting my weight on my palms. Finally I noticed something creeping up on him.
One glance gave me all I needed to know, the night fury snarled quietly at Hiccup, warning him. He held out his hands to show he wasn't holding anything, yet the night fury continued to snarl. A fish slipped out of his vest to the floor, glancing at it the night fury stopped snarling for a moment, before returning the gaze to Hiccup and growling. Hiccup looked like he had been smacked with realization, quickly reaching into his vest and pulling out his dagger, holding to his side dangling it and making sure the night fury watched as he dropped it to the ground. The night fury died down with the growling, still holding his eyes in thin slits he let out anothr snarl, showing he wasn't satisfied with him just dropping it. My eyesight became foggy and my thoughts ensued, 'why would he just drop the dagger like it meant nothing to him? Why does that night fury trust him? Perhaps the fury has seen Hiccup before? How did Hiccup know that the night fury was here? How many times have they encountered each other?' My next thought was cut by the sound of water slashing.
The rings danced on the water where the item was thrown in as the fury sat down and gave wider pupils which meant he was not angry or frightened. His nose spread taking in scents and wondered over as Hiccup picked up the fish and held it out to the dragon in front of him who opened his mouth awaiting the food. Hiccup paused for a moment mumbling something I couldn't quite hear. Eager the dragon brought out his teeth and snatched the fish. Suprised, Hiccup jumped back before the night fury turned to look at him again getting closer and sniffing him down to make he's safe as Hiccup backed up scared. I quickly threw my hand onto my mouth to stop the giggles bubbling in my throat. He had no idea that most dragons share their food with the person who brought it to them, the only reason the don't is if they have a strong dislike for them or they live alone. When the fury regurgitated half the fish onto his lap I sudddenly became bored and had no reason to stay, I very clearly wasn't going to be needed here and so I got up and started to walk back. I reached the village walking off to my house and thinking about what this could cause in the future, Hiccup knowing and befriending a dragon. It was more then clear no one would want to look at a dragon with intrest, but that was one thing that never changed about humans. If it looks dangerous, they kill it immediately. Sighing as my head hit the pillow, I drifted off, planning to stretch my wings tomorrow when training was over.
{Hey peoples, went on to start this chapter to see we hit 45 reads total! Even though that means some people are reading multiple chapters, it still means people are reading and I greatly appreciate that. This chapter didn't go exactly how I wanted, cuz I had a plan but went back to read my previous chapter and was like, 'aw man, this just ruined what I wanted to do' but I changed it up a little. Again though, thank you for reading and sorry for no cliffhanger!}
