As we all entered the arena I felt beyond nervous but tried not to let it show. Gobber went off talking about what we'll be training with and what for. My attention picked up at his last sentence, "Only the best one of you will get to kill a dragon in front of the whole village." I sighed on the inside, all I have to do be at least a little human like, just ordanary and not talented enough.

Finally Gobber started to go over to one of the locks, Snotlout suddenly spoke up, "Woah, woah, aren't you going to teach us about them first?".

"I believe it's better to learn on the job!" Gobber told us opening the door revealing a gronkle that proceeded to fly into the arena. It looked around probably a little frightened while we all took off in a dash, my eyes darted around for something to help me as my danger senses kick in, making me more aware to everything that happens. The gronkle picks up rocks on the side to make fire, my gaze lands upon a shield shelf that I hadn't notice before and I race to grab one. "The girl's got the right idea!" Gobber hollars from above, how he got up there is less important right now. The others make their way to the shields as I had, the twins start to fight over their shield before the gronkle gets them out. I think about the sound strategy but decide against it unless someone else points it out first, as we all shift around I'm relieved when Gobber gives us the tip I already knew. "Make noise, and lots of it! It throws off the dragons aim which can give you an advantage!" Everyone starts to clank weapons against their shields making sure no one sees me I just go to use my nails, giving it a higher pitched sound. Unfortunately my dragon nature takes over and my eyesight becomes hazzy and distorted. I keep using my nails on the shield metal, while I tried as hard as I could to keep myself from falling over. I stopped using my nails on the shield so it could make the world clear, the shapes of people where still pretty blurry but I could make them out.

Fishlegs got himself shot while thinking about special facts for dragons and Snotlout got himself out trying to impress Astrid, hiccup was hiding behind a big wooden plank on the wall with incouragement from Gobber to get on the field. The noise had almost stopped and the gronkle finally saw me it stopped moving for a second and I kept all of my current attention. He roared out before trying to hit Astrid with his second last shot suddenly turning and finding Hiccup close to the wall, the gronkle started to close in and hiccup scrambled to pick up his shield that he dropped but failed while backing up to the wall. As the gronkle got ready to fire Gobber hooked his jaw to the side and threw him back into the cage.

After that we went to get dinner, as we all sat in the great hall the all talked, I sat next to them but tuned out all the talking. After a while Gobber came over tossing a book onto the table, only now did I notice that Hiccup was sitting at a different table. Gobber explained to us that it was the book of dragons and Fishlegs went on to talk about some of them. Everyone started to leave, talking about how they don't care or have already read the book, except Hiccup. "I guess it's just you and me to share then?" He asked nervously.

"I suppose" I reply, starting to clean up everything they left, with Hiccup helping too. I wanted to sneak out and fly but I can't in daylight and there were nasty clouds rolling in for a thunderstorm. Finally Hiccup brought over a candle as it was dark, very few Vikings lingered in the great hall because of the thunderstorm. Hiccup sat beside me as we opened the book, I could tell he was nervous about it as well, for what reason I wasn't sure. They even classed us by how dangerous we were I started to fret what the night fury page actually looked like flipping a couple of pages until finally, the page was blank. 'Night Fury' it read. Everything about us was unknown to these vikings. It seemed as though they had never seen one of us, "Do you think they have another book that has information they gathered more recently and this is just the old book?" I questioned looking at the rather teathered paper.

"I'm not sure but we can ask Gobber tomorrow." He stated. I released a big sigh, for two things: the fact that they weren't the ones who killed my species but also that they don't know anything about us. Hiccup started to speak again, "Do you remember your name, by change?"

"I do, but I'll let everyone know tomorrow." I said almost I bit too firmly. He nodded as I stood up walking out, it seemed like a good place to stop talking before he actually wondered why I showed up in the middle of the forest. I trudged into my home through the rain, as thunder rang out. I finally realised I was so caught up in the book that I hadn't heard the thunder.

Strolling into the house, I shook off my wet boots dumping the water outside before leaving them close to the door. I also took off my over jacket, leaving it in one of the main rooms on a furnishing before making my way up the stairs. I faceplanted on the bed for the second time now, something between my clothes and the bed. Patting the space down to realize I had pockets! I pulled out the mysterious object and held it up to the windows for the moonlight, it smelled super good however. Finally revealing it, to see the dragon grass in my hand. My pupils dilated, I brought it to my face. The best part about dragon grass is how soft it is, I rubbed it against my face and the side of my neck. I brought it to my nose, closing my eyes and breathing it in. I balenced it on my nose before going to my night fury form. Lucky to still have it on my nose, breathing it in became much more effecting. I could barely stand! I slumped against the wooden boards and let myself fall asleep.

When the morning finally rolled around I awoke to a voice getting louder, "Do you think she's still asleep?" It was definitely Astrid and the others, I thought, beginning to panic.

{There take your 1144 words, at least we have a good cliffhanger, huh? If you girls (and guys, I know who you are) are still reading but want more, tell me! Comments and votes will always be appreciated, see ya in the next chapter!}
