My body lunged forward as my eyes shot open and air flew in and out of my lungs. My eyes were waterfalls, I tried to wipe them away as I started to calm myself.

My heart rate slowed as I took deep breaths, I wiped my eyes so I could see as I dropped my feet to the ground. I picked myself up off the bed and walked out the door. I strode through the forest, touching the leaves with my fingers. I thought about all the moments in my life as I finally approached the sea. I sat down on the sand and looked deeply into the water while the night continued onward. The sadness was most likely visible on my face as I thought about what purpose I could possibly have.

Astrid's POV

Morning was here and today I want to spend the day with (Y/N). She seemed like a reasonable person. I also thought that she could help me blow off some steam because I didn't get to kill the dragon. That really upset me.

I made my way to her door and knocked a couple of times. No answer, I knocked louder and more aggressive this time. Still nothing. I opened the door and walk in. The place was pretty barren from what other houses look like. But then again, she did just get here. "(Y/N)?" I called.

I walked up the stairs to the bedroom and knocked on that door. "Hello? Are you in there, (Y/N)?" I asked. I opened the door and stepped inside her to see it was empty, this began to worry me. As I started to turn around to leave, a glimpse of something caught my eye, I whipped back around and stared at it before slowly walking over and picking it up. It was small, green and had the texture of grass. It looked extremely similar to what Hiccup used in the arena. But why was it in here? Maybe Hiccup would know.

I marched out of the house and headed towards Hiccup's house. Waving at all the people who waved to me, I picked up my pace, I had really wanted to hang out with (Y/N).

I finally arrived outside his house and knocked on the door. Stoick answered the door, "Is Hiccup home?" I asked. He turned around gesture for me to come in.

"Hiccup! Astrid wants to talk to you!" He called walking past the stairs and into his room to make more weapons. Hiccup seemed almost nervous as he came down the stairs.

"Um, hey Astrid..." Hiccup said to me shyly as he fiddled with his hands.

"Do you know where (Y/N) is? I found this in her room and i thought you might know." I replied and held up the weird grass in front of him.

His eyes widened slightly but dilated to normal quickly. "Um... no, I have no idea where (Y/N) is. Is that all you needed?" Hiccup asked a little quickly.

I eyed him suspiciously as he shifted uncomfortably "Yeah, that's all." Hiccup bolted up the stairs as soon as I finished talking.

I searched all around town for her, I asked all the townsfolk and checked all the common areas. Still, I couldn't find her.

(Y/N)'s POV

I sat here, in the same spot for the whole day. Not moving, but just thinking about my worth. I don't remember when, but Toothless came up to me and tried to get me to move. After seeing that I refused to move, he sat down and joined. Time passed and he fell asleep beside me, more time had passed and the sun was beginning to sink down. Night was here, still straight faced, I stood up. Slightly startled, Toothless woke up and looked at me worried and confused, he got up trailing behind me. I turned around and stopped, looking at him I pet his scales a little bit, "Stay here, Toothless." I told him and went back to my house as the night became a deeper blue and the thousands of stars shined brighter.

Time skip to morning~

I took the first morning steps out of the door, I took a glance around the morning hours. Still tired, I yawned and placed my hand over my mouth as I did so. Suddenly Astrid came barreling up to me waving, "Hey (Y/N)! I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today, sort of like a girls day." she smiled at me, waiting patiently.

"Sure." I shrug, she grabbed hold of my arm and dragged off in different directions all day, taking me from place to place, doing all sorts of small activities.  Through the day I didn't say much, if anything at all, Astrid seemed concerned but didn't say anything about it.

At the end of the day we walked back to my house as Astrid recalled the 'amazing' parts of the day. I brought myself up to the door, mumbling "Bye.", to Astrid. I peeked through the crack in the door, watching her walk away. She neared the distance but took a last glance back before disappearing off the horizon.

I closed the door and headed up to my bed. I climbed in and let myself lose consciousness even though the sleep was dreamless.

When I woke in the morning to the pounding at my door, I groaned and rolled over onto my stomach. Covering my ears with my blanket and pillow while trying to go back to sleep.

I could hear the door burst open, "(Y/N)?" The person called, it was a man's voice. They stomped upstairs to my room and creeped in, I pretended to be asleep. "C'Mon (Y/N), Hiccup kills the dragon today. I'm sure you wouldn't want to miss it." It was Snotlout, but that wasn't important. When he had said dragon my whole body froze, giving a clear sign that I was already awake. The tone he gave told me I was going to watch a dragon die today weather I wanted to or not.

{Hey guys. Sorry I disappeared, writing at school is exhausting. So I write little bits for this story every now and again. If I'm too lazy the next chapter might not be up till Valentine's or even later. But I'll try to write more, I promise. Anyway thanks for 1k reads! Hope you enjoyed the chapter. Sharing, comments(even if they're mean) and votes are very appreciated. Merry Christmas!!}
