When the sun peeked over the horizon it blared straight on my face, the sun was warm, but with warmth from fire there must also be light. I squeezed my eyes tight before releasing the pressure and cracking open one eye. Groaning to no-one in particular, I lifted the covers off of me, swinging my legs over the bed and lifting my self up.

Opening both eyes this time, I prepared myself for the day and finally stepped out the door. Once I close the door I started to wonder where the gang was, but I shrugged it off and started my way to the great hall.

Everything in the town was the same as always, people hustling, workers working. Nothing was different but if today would be a day off, then that's chill with me, but at the very least they should tell me that it was a day off.
I got my food and a drink and settled at an empty table, eating and thinking. 'I should go see that night fury today. I wonder what that half tail Hiccup had was for... It couldn't be for the night fury, could it? Why would Hiccup help the night fury? Why would the night fur-' my furrowed eyebrows released the tension when I heard a plate clink against the table next to me.

Turning my head to see Hiccup sitting down, my brows shifted in confusion. He turned to look at me when he was fully sat down, "Hey, I was wondering if I could ask a question?" He asked, turning back to his food and taking a bite.

"Mm, well you just did, but sure." I replied, taking bites of my food too, going for the meat first.

"Umm, I was wondering what happened to the dragon you slayed in your room?" He asked a pondering look on his face. 'Crap, I forgot about that' There was a moment of silence, me thinking of an excuse and him waiting for an answer. Finally I found something to respond with.

"Apperntly I didn't kill it well enough and it crawled out of my house and off to somewhere else." I replied a little quiet, avoiding eye contact so he couldn't tell I was faking that there was a dragon.

"That's a shame... Have you remembered anything about your past at all?" I gave a shake of my head to say no, thinking about my real past to give a sad aura to myself.

The rest of breakfast was quiet. Finally once I was done, I asked him one last question before leaving, "Is today a day off for training?" As soon as Hiccup nodded I started my way off to put my plate back then proceeding to leave off to the forest.

~small time skip brought by that akward small talk you have to make but you really, really hate it~

After stumbling around for awhile, I found the clearing Hiccup had walked to. Making my way into the hole I carefully looked around. I make a small night fury roar, long enough to know it's there, but small enough that you still know it's real and not a human. Not too much later a black head poked out of a small cave, the night fury had thin eyes and alerted ears. His eyes panned around until he saw me and back into cave so I could see his snarl and eyes but also make it seem scary so that I'd back away. However, me knowing how dragon culture worked, I wasn't at all scared of him.

I let out another small night fury roar, one of a more playful aura. The night fury, though hidden well in the shadows, had a huge look of confusion on his face. His pupils going wide and thin, unsure of whether or not to trust me. A shift from behind me, up in the trees could be heard, alerting me and the other dragon. I spun, while the fury shifted his gaze, both of us watching the tree line. "Hello?" I called out, "If someone is there I know you're here!" I spoke again.

Slowly but surely a figure approached from the trees, when the silhouette was in the clear, it showed to be Hiccup. My body released stress as I saw him, he slowly made his way into the hole, "Hey Y/N..." Hiccup spoke almost akwardly, "Um, how did you find this place?" He spoke a little slow, as if trying to figure out the answer himself before I told it to him.

I thought for a brief moment, opening my mouth to speak, "I saw a weird path that clearly wasn't natural and followed it, when it stopped I kept walking and somehow found this area" I lied to him.

"Did you find anything else?" Hiccup said clearly referring to the night fury but I'm not supposed to know that.

I wanted to see how he'd react, so I answered, "Well I thought I heard a dragon and was coming to investigate." He looked a little nervous, and almost fumbled with his words, trying to get them out as quickly as possible.

"There aren't any dragons of any sort down here, I can promise that! Maybe your hearing was a little off and it came from a different direction." He pushed. I pretended to contemplate it.

"I don't know, my hearing is pretty accurate... But maybe you were right." He let out a noticeable sigh and we hung around in the little dip, occasionally I saw the dragon peeking his head out of the cave or Hiccup looking at the cave shooing his hands as a way to say 'please get back inside'.

Soon enough we got up and traveled the forest a little, where Hiccup seemed a little less frantic in conversation.{which was Hiccup telling stories about stuff that's happened in the town} Suddenly out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of dragon grass. I bolted for it, jumping in it and rolling around in it with a big fat smile on my face, a very genuine one at that. Hiccup came over with a confused look, and picked some, clearly not seeing how awesome this stuff is for cooling down a dragon. I plucked a couple pieces and lifted them to my nose and closed my eyes, inhaling them. I brought the pieces with me, making the scent spread through the forest. Hiccup had a thinking look on his face the whole time but never asked. Eventually we made a circle and came back to the creator, I sat on a small dirt ledge taking off my boots and dipping my toes in the water of the lake.

When we were finally done with the stories we both got up, I put my boots on and threw a piece of dragon grass in the cave where I then heard faint heavy breathing and smiled, knowing that the dragon would enjoy that for a while. Then we both headed home, where I crawled into bed just after the sun started dipping completely under the horizon.
