I had to stop them from opening the door so I let out a roar. They all gasp from the outside "Are you okay?!" Astrid called out. Luckily I had trained myself to speak while I was a dragon so I didn't have to change back and forth with forms, but I didn't expect this situation to happen.
"Stay out there, I'll take the dragon down!" It felt weird rolling off my tounge in this form but it was helping me survive so it didn't matter. To let out an actual pain filled roar, I bit down on tounge hard, but not hard enough to bleed. As soon as the roar finished I changed back to a human as fast as I could and ran around the room for a second before rushing out and closing the door behind me quickly so no one could see that there was actually nothing in there.
Everyone was gawking at me in astonishment, they all kept asking questions like if they could see it and how I managed to kill it by myself. I shrugged off the questions and eventually got them to stop asking, the only person who didn't ask anything was Hiccup. He just stood at the back and had a thinking look on his face. Finally we left my house and headed off to training, on the way I finally brought up my name. "So last night while sleeping something occured to me..."
"That a dragon snuck into your room and you had to kill it?" Ruffnut said walking over to me and nudging my side.
I pushed her off me and rolled my eyes, "No, it was my name. I remember!" Everyone stopped for a moment in wonder, including Hiccup.
"Well, what is it?" Snotlout asked, a little bit rude at that.
"It's Y/N" I state simply and keep walking as everyone snaps out of their little dazes at my name. Following after me and complimenting my name then continuing other conversations.
~small time skip for training~
We left later then last time because we had to clean the arena after today's training. We were being taught about finding the blind spot of dragons. To give us an advantage it was done in a maze, but of course Hiccup was too curious about the book and asked questions while we tried to survive. I kind of forgot about asking questions, but even when he was told there is no information on night furys he pressed on as to why they didn't have it. Then Astrid got mad at him and ended up angering the deadly nader which then knocked down all of the walls. Then we had to help pick up all the walls and put everything away.
Finally we were seated in an area that was like a break station, it had a fire going in the middle but you could still see the ocean. Benches were placed around the fire for us to sit on, there was a small table between two of the benches and everyone was seated at the benches with food in there hands. Gobber was telling stories and I was finished eating for the day, looking around at the scenery and listening to the fire crackle. Seemingly unnoticed by the rest of the group, Hiccup started to creep away, curious, I followed him. He made his way back to his house, and started to go to a back room. With papers about night furys, I decided to check it out tomorrow, shrugging it off. I went back to the snug home the vikings gave me, sighing while taking off a lot of overclothing that the people wear. Once it was just the tank top and shorts I went up the stairs, into the bedroom and actually got into the bed, laying the covers over top of me. I gave my mind the note to wake up early to find out what Hiccup was doing, and to not get shooken awake by the gang. Finally shutting my eyes and letting drowsiness take me into it's welcoming arms.
~in the morning~
When my eyes peeled open to reveal it's still dark I shut them again and roll over, wanting a few more minutes of peace till it hit me. I told myself to get up early, taking the sheet off me but leaving it on the bed I rolled over until the air fell quickly around me and the thud of me hitting the ground sounded, pain jumped in to accompany it. I sighed, now fully awake and lifted myself up to go outside, after putting on all the overclothes. I gave my eyes a quick rub, taking the last of my urges to fall over and sleep where I stand, I trudged off to Hiccup's house. Giving a glance around to see no one watching me, I threw myself through the window to the back room where Hiccup had the papers littered on a work station.
Siffting through them to find there were a lot for half tail designs, finally my fingers grazed over a book, seeing it made me stop and look closer. It had the drawing of a night fury, but the left side of the tail was different, as if it wasn't there when it was first drawn and it was going to be an add on. Beside the table there was something folded together, a red cloth connected to metal, the whole thing was in a burlap sack as if it was to be hidden from sight, pushed up against the table, in it's shadow. I pulled it out, and unfolded it. It was exactly like the blueprints he had on the table, but what was it for? And how did he know what a night fury looks like if no one in this village has seen one before? Hearing footsteps approach, I quickly tucked it back and scurried out the window to find the sun starting to peak over the horizon. I walked briskly back to my house while trying to find a logical solution as to how he figured out about night furys.
{Finally we're getting somewhere! I already have the perfect idea planned out for the majority of this story. The little piece you just read is half of one idea. Man, doesn't just suck that we haven't even seen toothless yet? Maybe if we're lucky I can get him in next time ;). Tell me how you're feeling about this story in the comments and thank you for reading!}
