tella sits alone at the Mikaelson dining table. Thousands of dinners, ending well and not so well, have been held there. But now, Stella is alone. Sitting at a piece of wood. With a glass of bourbon in front of her.

She had her mother's knack for finding what is hidden from her.

She hasn't drunk from the glass yet. It stands before her, its smell invading the room. The yellow-brown liquid does not move, creating a mirror within the intricate glass.

She and Hope had been holed up in their rooms for the past few days. They tried and failed to find Hayley. After about 48 hours, they combined their efforts (after a heartfelt apology from Hope that sent both girls into tears). Nothing worked.

And Stella is alone in a strange town with strange people while her mother is out of her mind and her father is off to find her. Her brother, who would have been in the same city, isn't even in the country because of his stupid year abroad.

So Stella stares at the glass in front of her, waiting for motivation to strike.

Footsteps draw her attention. She glances at the door to see Klaus standing there. "What do you want?" She groans, looking back at the glass.

Klaus sighs and sits next to her without a word. She glares at him. He then takes her glass of bourbon and drinks it.

"Hey!" She exclaims, grabbing for it, but he had already finished. "That wasn't yours!"

"Well, you're underage." He smirks at her.

"Well, no one's here to scold me, are they?" She mocks, leaning her head back in her chair and crossing her arms over her chest.

Klaus' smirk falls as he watches her. "You could call your brother."

Stella shakes her head. "He's in France for school. He won't be back until long after Mardi Gras."

"Your father?"

Stella rolls her eyes. "Off to find my mom." She glances back at Klaus. "Again, what do you want?"

Klaus purses his lips with a sigh. "I'm off to find your Uncle. I hope he can be of help. I'm just letting you know."

Stella lets out a chuckle. "Which uncle? Kol? You can't go near him. And Peter is honestly the worst person for this."

"No," Klaus says. "Your Uncle Elijah."

Stella snaps her eyes to him. "Are you insane?"

"Quite, but that's beside the point," Klaus responds. "I would do anything for my daughter and if risking my skin is part of it, well...let me be skinned."

Stella stares at him with big blue eyes. Eyes that are entirely Lexi's. "You are insane," she mutters as she relaxes in her chair. "Just don't die because Hope would bring you back just to kill you again."

Klaus laughs as he stands. "And that, dear Stella, is what Hope got from your mother."

As Klaus walks out of the room, Stella's phone begins to ring. She shifts, removing it from her pocket. The caller ID makes her answer instantly.

"Mom?" She breathes.

"Hello, little witch," Lexi replies, a smile evident in her voice.

"Mom?" Stella repeats. She doesn't really believe it.

"It's me, Stella."

"You're ok." Stella's voice cracks as she leans against her hand, now propped on the table. "You're you?"

"Yes, sweet girl. I'm me. I'm sorry for what happened, I just shifted back a few hours ago."

"B-But you're ok? And you're coming home?" She asks desperately. Her voice gets caught in her throat. Tears spring to her eyes.

Lexi sighs, "There's something I have to finish. I'll be in New Orleans by the end of the week, I promise."

Stella clenches her jaw. "What is so important it can't wait?"

Lexi goes quiet, only her breathing can be heard over the line. "Someone killed your Uncle Peter. I need to repay the favor."

Stella goes quiet. She moves the phone away from her ear and covers her mouth. When she replaces the phone, she says, "Give them hell. No one messes with our family."

"That's my girl."

"There's so much I want to tell you," Stella says, sniffling and mumbling.

"Well, I have a few moments now. Your father is out with his sisters getting supplies."

Stella takes a deep breath before she begins to talk. And she does not stop.

She tells her mother about school and her friends. She talks about how Derek had driven them down to New Orleans. She talks about Hope and Klaus and Freya, who has decided to leave New Orleans to be with Keelin. Neither witch believes that would last.

Finally, Stella tells her mother about Carter. The girl who had stolen the young Hale's heart. And the girl who had torn it up.

"Have you told anyone?" Lexi asks.

"No," Stella shakes her head. She was long past tears. Only guilt was left. "Not even Hope, no matter how much she tries. I told Dad we broke up, but I didn't say why."

"Good thing you didn't tell your dad. He would kill that girl for cheating. And as much as I would love to punish Carter for breaking your trust, I am quite confident you can exact her punishment on your own."

A ghost of a smile reaches Stella's lips. "Thank you."

"But, if there is one thing I know about broken trust, it is this: it will mend, eventually. Your Uncle Nik has broken my trust, yet I would trust him with your life. But concerning Carter? Give her hell. Remember, no one hurt our family and gets away with it."

Stella grins. "Til forever ends."

"Til forever ends."

After a moment of comfortable silence, Stella sighs. "I gotta go. I'll call you later, is that ok?"

"Of course!" Lexi exclaims. "I love you."

"Love you too. Bye." After an echo from Lexi, Stella hangs up only to click on another app on her phone.

Skype opens, and she scrolls through her contacts before she finds the right one. She grins at the name, happiness filling her gut when she sees the green dot next to his contact.

She clicks on T-Dog. Her finger hovers over the call button before she brings it down with certainty.

It rings once before the call is picked up. The screen goes dark as Stella holds her phone up.

The man on the other end moves towards the camera with a smile on his face. In the background, she can see his dark room, the lights of Paris lighting up the window. He sweeps his blonde curls out of his green eyes.

"You need a haircut, T," Stella laughs, tucking her own hair behind her ear.

"So do you," Teddy says with a Hale smirk. "What's up, little sis?"

"You would not believe the month I've had."

Everyone's ok...For now... Sorry about these short chapters. I'm trying to get everything done and I want to continue providing content, so these will be pretty short.
