Lexi jumps out of the car with Klaus, both starting to search the empty field. As Caroline steps out, Lexi's eyes catch a sparkle in the sun.

She kneels down as the wind begins to blow. She picks up the two cell phones, handing Hope's to Klaus. "They really don't want to be found," Lexi murmurs.

Out of the corner of her eye, Lexi sees Klaus scrolling through Hope's phone. He stops, his expression falling. Caroline leans over his shoulder, saying, "That's Roman."

"Then this must be the boy's phone," Lexi says, hitting the on button. She feels Klaus' eyes on her as the screen lights up.

He grabs the phone from her hand with his eyes wide. "What is it?" She asks.

"This is Greta," Klaus replies, unable to tear himself away from the screen saver. "Why is he with her?"

Lexi's heart falls. She knows the look in Greta's eyes. The look of pride and love. The look of a mother. "Greta is Roman's mother."

Caroline's expression falls. "This isn't just two kids running away." Her eyes fill with fear as Klaus' jaw clenches.

"My daughter's in real trouble," Klaus says, glaring at Lexi. "Where were you when this happened?"

"Healing my daughter," Lexi says. She keeps her expression passive. "She's still waiting for an apology. You did break her arm in two."

"To stop the spell—"

"To take away Hope's choice," Lexi snaps. "It was not your choice; it was her'ss. My threat still stands, brother. You go near Stella again, and Greta won't be your issue. I'll kill you myself."

Klaus and Lexi stare at each other, blue eyes melding with the sky. Neither seems furious to Caroline, but she is still scared. It's the calm before the storm. God help Greta Sienna if she does something to Hope.

Lexi's phone begins to ring. She breaks first, pulling out her phone. "Derek?"

"Declan is here. He's asking about Hayley." Derek says. "Freya wants to say something. Vincent is opposed, to say the least. What do we do?"

Lexi sighs and runs a hand through her hair. "It's better when they know, but Declan shouldn't be brought into this. Especially because of—" She cuts herself off, glancing at Klaus. "Our mutual friend."

She can practically hear Derek nod. He hesitates before asking, "Klaus there?"

Her hesitance is answer enough. "What did she tell you?"

"Tell Klaus I'll kill him."

"Come on, mate!" Klaus exclaims. "I was saving my daughter from herself—"

"Which wouldn't have happened if you had called once in a while," Derek snaps. "You lost the right to go near my kids, understand?"

Klaus huffs and crosses his arms.

"Lexi, Stella's still freaked out about something. I don't know what."

"Carter," Lexi replies, motioning to the car. All three start heading back. "Young love, what a bitch."

A low chuckle sounds from the phone. "I'll talk to her. Tell her how our first loves ended up."

Lexi tuts and shakes her head. "That'll just end her faith in it. Tell her about Scott."

A pause. "You sure?"

"Yes. I'll call you later."

With a beep, the line dies and leaves the three creatures alone with their thoughts. "Who's Scott?" Caroline asks as she begins to drive.
