Yes, it is this chapter. It's sad. I cried.

Klaus jumps from the car. Lexi is already running towards the rundown home. A wolf is sprinting towards them across the field. Caroline exits the car carefully.

A snap stops Lexi, Klaus, and the wolf. The wolf trots next to Lexi, shifting into Laura. Klaus is already facing where Caroline stood.

Elijah steps over Caroline with a glare. "What are you doing here?" Klaus demands.

"Protecting my family," Elijah replies.

Lexi grabs onto Laura's arm before the wolf can jump forward. "Hayley's in there. Find her." Lexi orders as Laura's eyes glow red.

"He left her," Laura growls through her canines.

"Go, now."

Laura snarls at Elijah before sprinting to the house. When Elijah steps forward to stop her, he suddenly finds himself unable to breathe. He falls to his knees.

"You call them your family, Elijah?" Lexi asks, her throat tight with emotion. "Hope is in there."

"Not my problem," he grunts.

"What about Hayley?" Klaus asks, desperation seeping into his voice. "You loved her."

Elijah shakes her head once, like a dog shaking off a collar. "The woman I love has a brother in there." He pushes himself up, throwing himself at the blonde with his hands.

Air enters his lungs. His inhales deeply, barely watching as Lexi flies back. She falls into the porch of the house, the wood breaking beneath her.

Klaus' expression turns furious as Elijah pants, "You're not going in."

Klaus speeds over to Elijah, grabbing his neck. "Well, it shows how little you actually remember your old life, because if you did, you'd know there's no way you can stop me."

Klaus throws Elijah down, beginning to beat him. All the anger, all the fear, all the disappointment. Everything Klaus has felt in the past sixteen years comes to the surface.

A scream echoes from the house. He drops Elijah and sees that Lexi is no longer there, only the dent in the wood remains.

Another crash echoes in his ears. He sprints to the door, slamming it open.

Greta Sienna holds Hayley by the throat. The once hybrid has faint marks on her forehead and hands—circular, like the moonstone: the remnants of the spell that took away her werewolf side.

Across from them, Lexi kneels on the ground, blood staining her hands. Tears run down her face as her veins bulge from her neck as if something were holding her down. Attached to her arm is a half-full syringe. The smell of the yellow liquid makes Klaus gag: yellow wolfsbane.

Behind her, he can see Hope lying in Roman's arms. She looks so peaceful, asleep and unconscious of what's happening. Roman is hugging her, burying his head in her hair. Blood stains his shoes.

"I'll kill you!" Lexi screams, voice hoarse, as she tries to stand, but her veins turn black in her body. She can't even get to her feet. "I will kill you!"

Klaus shouts as he feels a stake thrust through him, landing in his chest. He arches his back against Elijah as the older Mikaelson pushes Klaus to the ground. He delicately closes the door as Klaus groans.

On the ground, Klaus's hand falls in a puddle of blood. He follows the trail of red to the back room. Behind Hope and in front of the window, light falls on a heart. Blood oozes from the organ—werewolf blood. Klaus finds the body behind the heart.

Laura's eyes stare at nothing as the gaping hole in her chest catches the light from above.

"Elijah," Hayley whimpers, her own tears falling down her face. She glances between her best friend's body and the man she loves.

Elijah squints as if a memory were trying to resurface. As if he could remember. But then he sees Roman.

He rushes over to the boy and gently places a hand on his shoulder. He whispers his name, but the boy does nothing.

Hayley watches as her hope dies in her chest. Lexi is still screaming bloody murder, but the Alpha's voice gets softer as weakness floods her body.

Hayley yells as Greta shoves her hand into the new vampire's chest. Everything slows.

Hayley first sees Greta, the woman's expression victorious. She shifts her hand, twisting slightly.

Then, Klaus spits out blood, letting it mix with Laura's on the floor. The stake is still in his chest—he can't take it out.

Lexi tries to stand, but she falls, this time she goes all the way to the ground. The syringe drops, spilling the yellow wolfsbane over the floor.

Finally, she looks at Hope. Her daughter. The light of her life. The girl is asleep in the arms of the boy she liked—the boy that lead her to pain.

Hayley knows what she has to do.

She reaches up, grabbing Greta's finger. And she twists.
Greta moans as Hayley drops the finger. Her daylight ring thuds to the ground.

Hayley grabs Greta's arms, Lexi still screaming in the background. They make eye contact.

"Don't," Lexi rasps.

"Take care of her," Hayley says.

Lexi screams as Hayley sprints out the door, into the blistering sun. Both catch on fire the moment they reach the ground.

"No!" Klaus yells, turning to watch the flames burn. Elijah steps out, his eyes on the bodies.

Lexi's screams reduce to sobs.

They just watch.

And yet, Elijah takes a step forward. Next to Klaus.

Before Klaus can surge up, Elijah's hands take his head and snap it to the side. Klaus falls silently.

"No, no, no..." Lexi cries, her voice getting weaker and weaker.

"Roman!" Elijah calls. "We need to leave!"

The boy shakes his head. "H-How? I can't leave her—"

"Now," Elijah orders. The boy complies, laying Hope down, trying to spare her the blood. He gets to Elijah, his eyes downcast.

Elijah hesitates at the door, turning his head. The only movement coming from Lexi is her chest moving up and down and the tears still falling from her eyes. "I never meant for this to happen," he says.

Lexi's blue eyes meet his. The pain present, the guilt, and the pure, rotten pain... The pain he willingly gave up—it feels like a punch to the gut. Her lips turn up into a snarl, "Go...to...hell..." She snaps.

"Klaus?!" A feminine voice calls from outside. Elijah and Roman run away.

Lexi lets her head fall.

Ohhhh... What is this? Angst? Written semi-well? I've actually done something? What a miracle!

Hope you enjoyed!
