When Lexi walks back into the room, Marcel and Derek are both seated before the rest of her family. She hands Marcel one of the towels in her hands before she sits beside Derek.

He rolls his eyes as she begins to wipe the blood off his face.

"Ivy was telling Vincent and us all about the latest prophecy when a hurricane showed up out of nowhere," Marcel says as he drops the bloodied towel on the couch next to him.

Lexi eyes the towel. She raises her gaze to meet Marcel's. He moves the towel from the couch to the table before them.

"A monsoon from the water is the final curse before the firstborns die," Lexi adds, returning to wipe Derek's face.

Derek jerks back and grabs the towel. He sends her a look before wiping his face on his own. She pouts at him.

"We went to find you guys," Derek says. "Hope, Stella, and Teddy were at St. Anne's. They had Klaus and Elijah's bodies on the floor. Lexi's was off to the side." He turns his head to her. "The kids gave you a pillow."

Lexi lets a smirk grace her lips.

Marcel sighs as he rolls his eyes. "Hope is gathering up all of you to take back the power that's been split up inside of you."

Klaus' eyes widen. "She can't do that," he says and shakes his head. "It'll destroy her. That was the whole point of this!"

"She threw us in here when we tried to stop her," Derek says. "We can't leave until you guys find your keys."

Rebekah crosses her arms. "Well, she can't find my body. It's halfway across the world."

The look on Klaus' face changes from alarm to annoyance. "She has help. I created hybrids with her blood. They're sired to her. They'll do anything she asks."

Lexi tenses and glares at Klaus. "Ignoring the moral and ethical issues with siring hybrids for her, she'll still take back the power. She'll end the curses. She'll keep the firstborns safe."

"And then my daughter as we know her will be forever lost to darkness," Klaus says with a sigh.

"Well, then," Lexi stands and drags Derek up to his feet. "we better keep looking for our keys before our children go down a road they can't come back from."

She does not wait for the others to acknowledge her declaration before she drags Derek up to their old room. She shuts the door behind her the moment she catches Elijah's scent. When she faces Derek, he wraps his arms around her instantly.

She breathes in his scent, tightening her grip. She feels safe here. She can do anything at this moment. Derek is her rock—her anchor. He makes her stronger.

"Elijah's here too?" Derek asks softly.

Lexi nods.

He sniffs the air as he pulls away. He crinkles his face in disgust. "Why do you smell like whiskey?"

Lexi grins innocently.

Derek sighs and kisses her forehead. "How drunk are you?"

Lexi laughs and pushes on his arm. "I can hold my liquor," she says as she steps further into the room. She sits down on the bed and reaches underneath. She produces another bottle of whiskey.

Derek raises his eyebrows in surprise. "You've kept that there for how long?"

"It's been aged perfectly," she replies, opening the bottle.

The door suddenly bursts open. Kol storms in and rips the bottle away from Lexi. She jumps to her feet and tackles him to the ground. "Give that back!" She exclaims, trying to cap the bottle before it spills all over the floor.

"I knew you had one in here!" he yells back. He wiggles around on the ground, reaching as far as he can to keep the bottle away from Lexi.

Derek wraps his arms around her torso and hauls her off of Kol. She kicks her feet out with a whine. "He took my whiskey!"

"To keep you sober!" Kol replies as he gets to his feet. To make a point, he drinks the entire bottle.

When he lowers the glass, he finds Lexi glaring at him. "What do you want, brother?" she asks. "Excluding my whiskey."

Kol swipes his hair out of his eyes. He readjusts his clothing and takes a deep breath. "The music room."

"What about it?" Lexi asks, shrugging Derek's arms off of her waist. She takes his hand and circles it around her shoulders. Derek has to hide his smirk.

"Marcel tells me it is no longer standing," Kol says.

Lexi nods as the crib catches her eye once more. She moves away from Derek and towards the wooden crib. "It was wiped away by a flood, I believe. Why?"

As she reaches into the cushions of the crib, Kol sighs. "Guess where I found my key."

"The Shakespeare books you got Hope?" Derek guesses. "It's all she talks about when you're mentioned."

"You'd guess right," Kol replies. "They were in the music room."

Both boys pause as Lexi rips the cushions in the crib. She dips her hand into the fuzz and yells, "Ah-ha!" She pulls out an object with a smirk.

When she turns to the boys, she shows off her key. "Two down, three to go."

"Aren't you forgetting someone?" Derek asks? "You and Kol have your keys. Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, and Freya still need to find their's."

Lexi stiffens and averts her gaze. "Right. I forgot one. My bad."

She does not look at Kol as his mind begins to turn. "Freya," he mutters. "It's Freya."

He runs from the room, a determined expression on his face. Derek glances between the running Original and the Original Alpha. The look of guilt says it all. "Freya's helping them, isn't she?" Derek asks.

Lexi sighs as she meets his gaze. "Hope is old enough to make her own choices. If she believes that she can fix this, I'm willing to help her do it. We promised her—always and forever until forever ends. I won't go back on that promise."

Derek drops his curious expression. "So, we stall while our kids could be putting themselves in danger?"

"No, we stall until the power is returned to Hope," Lexi says. "And then, we take the kids as far away from her as we can."

FINALLY BREAK! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG!

Hope you enjoyed!
