In Love With My Best Friend

chap 20 ; clear our minds

we head back to my apartment.

once we arrived there, no one spoke.

we all just sat down in silence looking at the ground.

i then broke the silence.

"guys. i know today is the hardest and most painful day ever, but can we not just sit here and look down on the ground? i haven't been eating when i found out about mom's accident, and i'm really hungry. can we please just go out and eat?" i ask them

they all nod to my question and we leave the apartment.

we're all riding in jake's car.

jake in the driver's seat, me in the passengers seat, kevin and amanda in the back seat.

the car ride was silent, but then i had to break it again

"so where are we eating?" i ask them

"i think we should eat taco bell" kevin suggest

we all nod and drive to taco bell.

we parked in the front row and head inside.

luckily there wasn't a lot of people there.

"hi i'm dana, how may i take your order?" dana says with a smile

"hi, can i have 2 cheese nacho's doritos loco taco with chilli cheese fries, 4 soft tacos, 3 chicken chillupas, and 2 crunchy tacos" i tell her

"okay. let me just repeat your order and it'll be right up. okay so 2 cheese nacho's doritos loco taco with chilli fries, 4 soft tacos, 3 chicken chillupas, and 2 crunchy tacos. is that all you would like for today?" she asks

"um can we have 4 mango slushies, and add in 2 large sprunch (fruit punch and sprite)"

"okay. comming right up"

i wait for about 5-10 minutes and the food finally came.

jake ran over to me and got the other 2 trays, while i'm holding the other 2

we took a seat and we placed the trays in the center of the table.

"okay, let's eat"

i took a seat next to jake, and took my doritos loco taco, my chilli fries, one mango slushie, and one large sprunch for me and jake to share.

we finally finished our food and dumped our trash.

we walk over to the car and jake starts driving.

"we were wondering if you guy's wanted to sleep over at our place for tonight, we have a spare room and you two could sleep in. and we could try to clear our minds on the weekends by going somewhere" amanda tells me and jake

"yeah, that would be nice" i look back and smile at her

we arrive at kevin's place..

i plop down on their sofa and sighed, jake following and wrapping his arms around my waist.

"so where's the twins?" i ask kevin

"their with amanda's parents, they said they could watch her while we get our minds off of what just happened" kevin said

"oh, okay"

i walk over to amanda who is sitting on the dinning table drinking a glass of ice cold water and on her laptop scrolling through her twitter.

me - "um amanda"

amanda - "hm?" she turns her head and looks at me

me - "i don't have any clothes. is it okay if i wear some of yours?" i ask

amanda - "yeah sure. i don't mind. just go in my room and there's a drawer on the right side of my bed, and just find whatever clothes you wanna wear" she says and smiles at me

me - "thank you so much amanda" i say and return the smile

i walk to the bedroom and pick out sweatpants, and a california sweater.

i go inside their bathroom and change into them.

i look at myself in the mirror. my makeup was all messed up, i can't believe i walked into taco bell looking like this.

i turn the faucet on and wash the makeup off my face.

i took a small little towel out of one of the cabinets and wipe my face dry.

once i was done, i put my hair into a messy bun.

i turn around and gasp.

"mom?"
