Seungmin walked down the hall of the huge building looking sad, but trying to force himself to smile. He walked the same path everyday.
The boy was led into a room which was divided in two by glass. On the other side of the glass another boy sat on a chair. Seungmin neared and smiled weakly at the boy. He placed his hand on the glass.
"Hey, Jinnie." Seungmin greeted, looking at the boy with adoration.
The other boy looked up and smiled as well, rather sadly as he, too, put his hand on the glass, exactly where Seungmin's hand was on the other side of the glass.
"Hello Minnie. I missed you." Hyunjin greeted.
Seungmin felt his heart being stabbed. He couldn't even touch his boyfriend. That's why they always pretended to be holding hands through the glass. His eyes began to fill with tears and it wasn't long until a lone tear rolled down his cheek.
"Don't cry, please. It hurts me seeing you like this." Hyunjin pleaded.
"B-but Jinnie... I can't even hold your hand... I miss your hugs a-and seeing you for 30 minutes a day is not enough..." Seungmin sobbed.
"I know, baby. I know. I miss holding you close to me as well. But you have to stay strong, okay? I love you, don't forget that." Hyunjin comforted the crying boy.
"I love you too Jinnie. Always." Seungmin whispered.
...
Before it happened, both boys were just ordinary college students. Or so everyone thought.
Seungmin had the biggest crush on Hyunjin ever since his high school years, but he had been too shy to confess.
Hyunjin, however, had a secret. A terrifying secret. He was different from the rest, but no one knew what went inside his head.
One night, Seungmin was walking home alone from his lessons. It was dark outside and it was pretty late already. There were no people in the streets and he had to walk right past the park. The place seemed scary during the night, which was a huge contrast from how lively it was during the day.
Wanting to go home faster because he was tired, Seungmin decided to take the shortcut through the park instead of going around it.
That's when he saw it, the most beautiful thing in the world.
Not too far away there was someone lying on the ground. A woman. She wore a white dress which was oddly stained in red. Her face was pale and she looked beautiful, like a doll. Her body was leaning on a tree and she looked like she was sleeping, but her eyes were open and so mesmerizing, so alive.
Next to the woman stood a boy. Half of his body was hidden in the shadows, while the other half was illuminated by the moon. His eyes seemed emotionless as he stared at the woman. He also had red stains, no, red drops on his face. Seungmin could swear that the boy looked ethereal and he couldn't take his eyes off him.
"Beautiful..." Seungmin spoke without realizing it. Since no one was around and it was dead quiet, the boy heard him and shifted his gaze to stare at Seungmin immediately.
"Do you like it?" The boy questioned with a smile.
"Yes." Seungmin replied smiling back.
"Do you perhaps like the color red? Because I love red." The boy kept asking questions.
"I do. It's a beautiful color. And it suits you very much." Seungmin replied, entranced by the beautiful boy in front of him.
"I would've painted you red as well, but since you said you like my art I won't." The boy chuckled.
"Can I see more of your art?" Seungmin asked.
The boy nodded as he stepped out from the shadows so his face was completely visible on the moonlight. It was Hyunjin. But Seungmin already knew that. If it was someone else he would've been scared as hell, but since it was the boy he liked for so long, he didn't feel scared at all.
"Will you keep what you saw in secret, pretty boy?" Hyunjin questioned as he slowly made his way towards Seungmin. He was aware of the boy's adoration for him and he didn't doubt the fact that Seungmin wouldn't rat him out.
"I will." Seungmin took in a deep breath as he felt Hyunjin's red stained hand touch his cheek. He leaned into his touch, closing his eyes and smiling.
"Now you're red as well. Beautiful. Be mine, Kim Seungmin." Hyunjin stared lovingly into the boy's eyes. He was mesmerized by his braveness and the fact that Seungmin liked red and wasn't disgusted when he found out Hyunjin's secret, so the killer decided to make him his boyfriend.
"Yes." Seungmin replied.
Hyunjin closed the distance between them and kissed Seungmin slowly.
Seungmin was obsessed with Hyunjin and he adored everything his boyfriend did. Even his friends could see it and they slowly left his side because they were weirded out by him. After all, he wouldn't shut up, constantly talking about how perfect Hyunjin was.
Seungmin didn't notice because he had Hyunjin and he didn't need anyone else. As long as they were together he was happy.
Of course, he knew about Hyunjin's 'art sessions' because the boy would sometimes visit him in the middle of the night, stained in red.
It didn't go like this for too long though.
One night, Hyunjin had promised to visit Seungmin after another 'art session', but he didn't show up. Seungmin waited for him until the morning.
He turned on the TV to pass the time, as Hyunjin was probably busy and would contact him later.
"A few hours ago, the mysterious serial killer who murdered 18 people was apprehended." The reporter announced.
Hyunjin's face popped on the screen and Seungmin was terrified.
He knew killing people was a crime and was something horrible, but he didn't care since it was Hyunjin. He loved him. And now his lover was caught by the police. They wouldn't understand the beauty of his art.
Seungmin rushed to where his boyfriend was held, but couldn't see him until the day of his trial. It was truly painful for him without Hyunjin. The killer had spoiled him so much that Seungmin couldn't imagine his life without the other boy anymore. He had become dependent on Hyunjin.
The people were disgusted seeing the boys hug each other and kiss for the last time before Hyunjin would be put behind bars for the rest of his life. They judged Seungmin for loving someone like Hyunjin. But they would never understand.
Everyday, Seungmin went to visit his boyfriend in prison. He was the only one who stood by his side and kept loving him despite the fact that he was a criminal.
"I love you. Always."
Okay, that story was kinda psycho. But I always wanted to write something like that. I hope you guys liked it! I wrote this at 3 am so there might be some typos.
