Genre: fluffHyunjin was a popular guy, which meant he also had a lot of friends. Still, he always hung out the most with his 8 best friends. They knew each other since toddlers and still kept being friends until this day.
It was during the end of the summer, just before autumn came and school started when Hyunjin went out with his friends again. He knew that soon they wouldn't be able to hang out as much due to them going to different high schools.
They were currently sitting on the grass in front of Jeongin's house and wondered what to do.
"Let's play hide and seek!" Jisung exclaimed suddenly.
"No, that's so childish." Changbin groaned.
"I'm in." Felix smiled at Jisung and earned a glare from Changbin.
"Do you have a better idea then? Plus, Felix agrees with me." Jisung challenged his friend with a teasing tone, wearing that smirk again, knowing how much it annoyed the older.
Changbin kept silent because he didn't have a better suggestion.
"Let's try it. I mean, since we have nothing better to do. It could be fun." Chan suggested and everyone nodded.
"But no hiding in Jeongin's house. Also, who's going to count?" Woojin asked.
"Well, since you're the oldest..." Minho started, smirking.
"Uh, fine." Woojin rolled his eyes as he turned his back on his friends and faced the house with his eyes closed.
"1, 2, 3,..." The oldest began to count.
"W-wait, already?!" Hyunjin panicked.
He saw the rest of his friends running around and hiding, picking the spots he thought of using. His face dropped as he looked around like a lost puppy until he felt a tug at his sleeve. It was Seungmin. The boy pointed to the back of a house on the street, pulling Hyunjin with him. The taller blushed but followed silently, afraid that Woojin might hear them and go after them first.
Going to the back of the said house, Hyunjin saw that there were a lot of trees, forming something like a forest.
"You wanna hide here?" Hyunjin whispered.
Seungmin just nodded.
Both boys laid on the ground between the trees and behind the biggest bush around. They held their breaths, expecting Woojin to appear out of nowhere and find them.
It was quiet. They had no idea if Woojin had already finished counting. The boys didn't hear any noise except their breathing so they relaxed.
Hyunjin laid on his back facing the sky. He let out a gasp due to the beautiful view. The sky could be seen through the trees and Hyunjin couldn't stop gazing at it.
Seungmin followed his friend's example and laid on his back as well.
"It's beautiful." The younger smiled as he stretched out his arm as if trying to touch the sky.
"It is." Hyunjin confirmed.
They kept silent for a while, enjoying each other's presence and the beautiful view.
"Do you think Woojin found someone already?" The older broke the silence.
"I don't know. Who do you think will be found out first?" Seungmin glanced at his friend.
"Probably Chan hyung. His ideas are original, but he really can't hide well." Hyunjin chuckled.
"I don't want to get up. It's so comfortable here..." Seungmin said after a while.
"I know, right?" Hyunjin confirmed.
"There's been something on my mind..." The older began hesitantly.
Seungmin turned to lay on his side, giving his full attention to his friend.
"Actually... I... Uh... What I mean is..." Hyunjin stuttered. He was honestly considering on giving up. He wasn't good with expressing his feelings and the words just wouldn't come out.
"I like you." Seungmin blurted, still staring at the other.
"Wha- How did you... I mean..." Hyunjin stuttered again, unsure of what to say and doubting he heard right.
The younger rolled his eyes and just leaned in to capture his friend's lips in a gentle kiss.
Hyunjin was, what you would call, a panicked gay. He didn't know what to do and he honestly felt like he was dreaming.
"You could've at least kissed me back." Seungmin pouted when he broke off from the kiss.
"S-sorry... I j-just... Didn't expect you to..." The older stuttered, bringing his hand to his lips to touch them, as if to make sure that the other had indeed kissed him.
"You're adorable." Seungmin grinned as he leaned in and pecked his friend's lips, making him even more flustered.
"S-so... Does that mean that we're... Together?" Hyunjin questioned.
"You haven't asked me out yet." The younger teased.
He knew that his friend was shy, but he wanted Hyunjin to be the one to ask him out.
"Then... Will you go out with me?" Hyunjin asked nervously.
"Yes." Seungmin said smiling as he scooted closer to his, now, boyfriend.
Hyunjin timidly wrapped his arms around the younger, enjoying their closeness.
"Oh, shoot! We've been here a while... What time is it?" The older jumped slightly.
"I don't know, I left my phone at Jeongin's. But... What if they finished playing already?" Seungmin questioned back.
"We should probably head back." The older suggested as he stood up and stepped out of the bush they were hiding at. His boyfriend nodded and followed after him.
When they reached Jeongin's house, they noticed some of the others sitting in the same place they did before they started playing.
"Where have you guys been? It's been like, half an hour." Jisung asked the newcomers.
"Uh, we were hiding..." Hyunjin answered.
"Sure you were. You probably kissed all the time or something. We stopped playing a while ago." Minho teased.
But both Hyunjin and Seungmin blushed at his words and looked away. Their friend wasn't wrong after all.
"What, you guys really kissed?!" Felix placed his hands over his mouth, scandalized.
"It's about time you two started dating already. Congratulations." Jeongin smiled.
"Just shut up." Seungmin scolded, blushing like crazy. Hyunjin, who stood next to him wasn't any different.
I hope you guys enjoyed! Just a heads up, the next one won't be Seungjin, but I haven't decided on a ship yet.
