"Hermione!" Alice practically screamed from the door as she entered the hospital wing. Small hands wrapped around her friends hands as she saw the petrified girl laying stagnant. Professors all stood around the girl as her other two friends were stood there around her. Silver hair covered Hermione's face as she kissed the witch's forehead. "Maw, can I help you? To make the potion." She looked at Severus and the blue gleaming eyes travelled to him eventually with annoyance. "Oh, I suppose that you would prefer me not to exist never mind spend extra time with me." He didn't deny it but stood silently as Albus peered at him without a word. 'One less dunderhead' Severus regretted thinking this when Albus perked up his lips and spoke "Severus my dear boy. What is her overall percentage in your subject?" Snape thought for a second before responding "100" Albus gave him a look and Severus could tell what he wanted to say. "Perhaps my boy, she isn't a dunderhead as you would say. Maybe you are just too negative." He huffed and rolled his dark hate filled eyes. Alice was with Hermione as much as possible until Harry came to her. "We wondered if you would come with us into-into the chamber." She nodded and left all her work behind as she waved goodbye to Poppy. Lockhart was with the boys strangely but she thought nothing of it.
It was just Harry. Alice had wandered on ahead of him so she was there also just, he wasn't sure where. Her silver hair sparkled in the spars lights that decorated randomly. "Harry." She ran forward as snake skin and rocks littered the floor dangerously. "I have always hated snakes, slippery, gross, just not my thing." She commented as her body shook from displeasure. They had managed to get to a clearing and Harry ran on, throwing his wand to his side. "Ginny." He kept almost chanting at the limp body laying stagnant on the floor. A man dressed properly walked dangerously to Harry but Alice was looking intently at the surroundings to try find the snake. This didn't take long as the man from the diary, Tom, forced the snake to escape and charge at Harry. Alice ran to a side tunnel to try and avoid it as the snake charged at them angrily. She slipped and cursed as her ankle started swelling but her inner Poppy came out as she used 'episkey' and found the swelling decrease. By the time she was fixed she saw Fawks fly from the the chamber back out. Alice ran and nearly fainted when she saw the snake but noticed the eyeless aspect of the creature. The creature was travelling at Harry and so she began splashing stupidly in the corner. Her eyes directed Harry to the shadows to escape and he did. Her distraction was effective for him but not her as the gross beast, the basilisk ventured closer to her and she just stood still with no movement and she held her breath. Harry soon ran from his hiding and somehow had climbed up the stone from which the snake emerged. His loud shouting stopped it from moving and instead it turned to him. When she was sure that it was far enough away Alice started breathing heavily and went to warn Harry or distract the beast but it didn't matter as his hand plunged into the mouth and killed the snake. When Harry got down he pulled the tooth from his arm and watched black liquid drip. Alice ran to his side and tried a few spells but she knew that none of it would work. Tom had taken this moment to step forward but Harry plunged the tooth into the damp diary. Light emitted from Tom as he shouted to make him stop but he didn't. Fawks had once again flown in and she watched as the bird cried onto the open wound. As the bird let the last tear fall Ginny began spluttering an apology and how she wasn't in control but Alice hugged her tightly making the ginger silence immediately.
"How stupid are you? You could have been killed." Minerva paced in the office that belonged to Albus as Poppy, Pomona and Rolanda sat agreeing. "Or worse. Expelled." Minerva shot her a look that made her silence immediately. "What would have happened if you died? Your entire life wasted in pursuit of a bloody basilisk. You are a precious soul and all of you. Lockhart included were absolute idiots." Alice let her hair cover the front of her face as she watched her feet intently. "Do not play coy with me girl. Your actions were ill thought, stupidly carried out and frankly it is all a fucking mess." Blue eyes went wide and met hers when she swore. Never had the small girl heard one foul word cross her lips. "Thank you Minerva." Albus silenced the pacing witch as she then sat down. "I have already spoken to Harry. He told me that you distracted the creature. Giving him the chance to escape and do what he needed." She nodded once and saw a slight hint of disappointment in his eyes which meant that in reality he was uncontrollably disappointed. "Are you sorry?" Pomona asked bluntly and the true Gryffindor flared in Alice. "Sorry means that you won't do it again. I will not make such a promise. If Harry was to come and ask me to do it all over again then I would." Not a single adult looked pleased or happy by her reply. "Well, Alice I ask that you go to your common room and do not leave the sleeping area until I allow it. The house elves will be told not to serve you. I will not let you miss meals of course as Daisy shall deliver three meals a day but no communication will be had." She turned and took her punishment but her body filled with annoyance at herself for letting them all down like this.
