As you're walking down the street
Down the hall
Into a room
Look up
See everyone around you
And understand
That there is a universe inside everyone's head
Unexplored
Uncharted
Thousands of secrets.
Look into someone's eyes
Because when they say goodbye
One final time
And close their eyes
If no one remembers their colors,
The Aurora Borealis painted around their pupils,
The colors inside their eyes will fade
And the galaxies in their minds will end.
The end of time.
But if you remember,
If you look beyond their eyelids
At their iris
And don't look away
Look long enough to memorize the pattern, all the colors, every secret,
The colors will never fade,
Their eyes will light up their graves.
But nobody looks into anyone else's eyes anymore
They never have,
And neither have I.
It's the truth
Nobody's brave enough
To break free
To see the lights behind someone's eyes
Every universe, every atom
Every color, every pattern.
If you haven't forgotten this by the morning
If your dreams don't cover up what you dread
Walk up to somebody
Say hello
Look in their eyes
And your mind will be blown
