You complain about the rain,
But you never bring an umbrella.
You like to pretend you're under a waterfall.
You complain about the music
They play on the radio,
But you always turn it on when you walk into your car.
The windows are up and the heat is on
So you can dry off on your drive to work.
You drive five miles above the speed limit,
Just subtly checking if you're still alive.
Everyone thought you were crazy,
The way you talked about life.
But they never thought you were serious,
And never thought to ask
If you were okay.
They never thought they'd be standing at a funeral today.
The rain's coming down,
But everyone has an umbrella.
Nobody wants to pretend.
There's music playing
Off in the distance,
But nobody has noticed it yet,
No nobody knows.
