We live in a world
Where we're defined by normality
Percentiles, percentages, and averages.
If we hear that we're just like the majority
We feel that we've succeeded
But success could never be more fleeting.
We're taught that 2+2=4
And that every word has a definition
Every poem has a strict meaning
That means the same for everyone.
This practice turns our veins into wires
Our brains into hard drives
Turning us into robots,
A non invasive lobotomy.
But it doesn't work.
We crave attention,
And when our expressions are restricted
We still crave being unique,
So we turn to different methods
Pretending to be who we're not
Changing our lives without giving it a thought
Reverting to self harm
And making our blood drop
And this will never stop
Because with 7 billion people on the planet,
We're all just robots
Perfected,
By the lobotomy of society.
