Hope
Is the only thing
Keeping me going.
But it falls
Through my fingers
Way too easily,
And it's way too hard to find
Once it's gone.
It's like I'm tied
To the sand
On the beach,
And the water
Keeps creeping up on me,
Covering me,
Drowning me.
And it's telling me
All my worst fears,
That I'm not worth it,
That nobody cares.
And I know you're there,
Telling to me,
That I matter,
That life matters,
That you care,
But I can hardly hear you through the water.
So please,
Don't let me fall through the floor,
Walk through the door,
Wash away from the shore.
And if I start to drift,
Grab my wrist,
Don't let me slip,
And hold me there until the tide dies down.
