Everything's calm now
In the aftermath of the storm,
But storms will come and go.
The ocean ebbs and flows,
The tide will rise,
And cover my eyes.
I don't know how many times I can fight,
Before I let it in.
But I will hold my breath,
And hope that it leaves me alone.
Because I'm laying on the beach,
Holding on to the sand,
Praying that the water doesn't pull me away from the land,
And into the deep,
It will pull me into the deep,
And drown me in darkness as I fall asleep.
