Louis's Point of View:
"Are you sure about this?" Alice asked on the other side of the phone. I could practically see her nervous face just by hearing her voice.
"Babe, there's nothing to worry about, seriously." I chuckled.
"Louis don't laugh, I'm actually nervous!" She whined a little.
"It's ok." I said, seriously. "I promise you my mom will like you and nothing bad will happen, ok? It's just dinner."
"How do you know that, though?" She asked desperately. To be honest it was kind of adorable how worked up she was getting over this.
"Alice, why are you even worrying about this? You never care what other people think about you, so why is this different?" I asked, trying to comfort her. There was a long pause and I knew she didn't want to tell me whatever she was thinking. "What is it, babe?" I asked.
"It's just-" She sighed. "It's just that I know how important your family is to you and if they don't like me I feel like…" She trailed off.
"Like if they don't like you I won't like you anymore?"
"Yeah." She said, quietly. I knew it took a lot for her to tell me something like that.
"You're crazy." I chuckled, but she didn't say anything. "Baby, no one can change the way I feel about you. If they don't like you, which won't happen, it won't change the way I see you, ok?" I said, actually being serious this time.
"Ok." She finally said and a smile spread across my face, knowing I finally got rid of her nerves.
"Come to my house around six." I said.
"Ok." She sighed and hung up the phone.
Alice's Point of View:
I looked at my hair and make-up one more time in the mirror and took a deep breath. "It's just dinner." I said to myself for the hundredth time that night as I fixed my curly hair again. I looked at my white cardigan and skinny jeans in the mirror. It was casual, but not too casual.
"Where are you going?" Danielle asked when I walked down the stairs.
"To Louis's for dinner, with his mom." I said, shooting him a nervous glance.
"You look terrified!" He laughed.
"That's because I am!" I practically shouted. I was starting to get frustrated with everyone laughing at me about this.
"Why?" He asked seriously.
"I don't know, Louis's mom is just really important to him, so it's really important to me that she likes me." I sighed.
"You know what that tells me?" He asked. I shook my head. "That you really like him, Al."
"What?" I asked, looking up at him.
"If you didn't you wouldn't care what his mom thought. You want her to like you because you really like him. Am I right?"
"I guess so." I mumbled after a long pause.
"Aw, they grow up so fast." He joked, ruffling my hair. "I remember when you thought boys were gross." He laughed.
"I'll see you later." I laughed, walking towards the door.
"Good luck!" He yelled after me. I walked the familiar path to Louis's house. I pulled my coat tighter as the December wind blew my hair back and exposed my neck to the cold. I got to the house sooner than I had hoped to and stared at the door.
