95: The Trial of Trials

(In the KIP Stadium)

"But. But." Diantha manages to utter.

"But nothing. Don't worry. Nothing will happen to the stadium. I shall set up a dome like protective aura barrier around the battlefield. No kind of direct Pokemon attack will be able get past it. So nothing will happen to the stadium. You have my word. Now go and get the stadium prepared for my apprentices' final trial. To determine whether they have what it takes to further continue my education." Dragon Emperor says as everyone casts each other suspicious glances.

Sycamore is about to open his mouth to protest but the Dragon Emperor simply brandishes his cloak while spinning on the spot, following which he teleports away.

'Meet me in the battlefield in exactly 30 minutes, Ash and Serena.' Dragon Emperor's telepathic voice says.

"Ash Serena. NO." Diantha says in a firm tone.

"You don't have a say in the matter Diantha. He's our master and if he commands us to fight and prove our competency then we shall do so to the best of our capabilities. Do evacuate the stadium as asked." Serena says as she nods to Ash. Ash nods back to her and they both start walking away.

"Where are you going?" Grace asks in an inquisitive suspicious tone.

"We have a few things to attend to before we face of against him. We need to tend to those. Don't worry. It should be done quickly. We'll see you soon." Ash says as he and Serena walk away. When Ash and Serena walk out of sight Lance takes out his mobile and dials Goodshow's number.

"Good Morning, Mr. Goodshow. We need you to come to KIP as soon as possible. The Dragon Emperor is back. You should be here. Things have taken a most unprecedented turn." Lance says.

"I'll be there in half an hour." Goodshow replies as Lance acknowledges his reply before cutting the line.

"We need to prepare. Make sure the students are not anywhere near the stadium. Station extra security guards if need be. Have the gym leaders and Elite Four go to the dorm and patrol them to ensure no student slips out." Diantha says as everyone agrees, before taking out their phones to make the necessary arrangements.

(30 Minutes in the VIP Box)

Only the Professors, Champions, Alolan Delegates, Elite Four, Board Members of league, contests and showcases are there along with a few of Ash and Serena's close friends. Also present are the minister of each region who have been sent by their respective regions to assess the gravity of the situation regarding the Dragon Emperor.

All the ministers are sitting calmly whereas everyone else is extremely nervous and jumpy. It is evident that the last place they want to be is as a spectator for this match.

"Why are so all so tense? It's just a Pokemon match." Kantonian minister says.

"This is not just a Pokemon match minister. It's going to be more explosive than any match you've ever seen." Cynthia replies.

Suddenly a mechanical voice comes from Lance's walkie talkie. He presses a button and puts the walkie talkie to his ear.

"Understood." Lance replies after a while.
