(Next Morning)
"Ash, wake up. We need to go and meet Diantha in one hour," Serena says as she groggily shakes her boyfriend who's showing no inclination to wake up.
"Babe. Five more minutes," Ash mutters, eyes closed shut.
"Oh, come on. Get up," Serena says as she shakes Ash a little harder.
"You are no fun," Ash mumbles before pulling the unsuspecting Serena into a tight hug.
They both roll on the bed for a while before he completely imprisons her in between his arms.
"Ash, you pervert, let me go," Serena says while bursting into a fit of giggles.
Ash naughtily smiles, indicating that he has no intention of releasing her.
"Oh well. I guess you can sleep for five minutes," Serena says while giving Ash a peck on his left cheek.
"That's my girl," Ash approvingly mumbles before pulling her even closer, until they are practically snuggling with each other.
Serena silently sighs while smiling before closing her eyes for a much desired five-minute snuggle.
(Half an Hour Later)
"Hey there Ash and Serena. Did you guys get a good night's sleep? How are my two lovebirds doing?" Grace sips her lemon tea flavoured with Tomatah berry extract.
"Well, we arrived a little late. So I guess we slept fine," Serena says while sitting down and opening her yoghurt pack.
"Well, I got the bug badge Grace," Ash pulls out his badge case and then shows it to her.
"Good. Well done. I guess next stop is Cyllage gym for you two," Grace smiles after seeing the glinting bug badge in Ash's case.
"Yup. But today we have to be here. For the welcoming ceremony," Ash says while taking a bite out of his croissant.
"What welcoming ceremony?" Grace questions Ash.
"Well, I would love to tell you but we need to meet Diantha in exactly twenty minutes," Serena answers on Ash's behalf before coming to a pause.
"Why don't you come with us? I am sure Diantha won't mind," Serena says before proceeding to pick up a sumptuous chocolate eclair.
"If you say so," Grace says while simply shrugging her shoulders.
Ash and Serena eat their breakfast in silence while Grace stands up in order to deposit her tray.
(In Sycamore's Office)
"Hey Alexa, Diantha, Cynthia and Professor Sycamore," Ash greets everyone as he walks into Diantha's office with Grace and Serena.
"Hi, Ash. Sleep well?" Alexa asks Ash.
"Like a log," Ash brightly smiles back.
"Good to see you all nice and rested. Now, we don't have much time before the Battle Pyramid arrives. So the welcoming ceremony will consist of the following parts," Diantha says before pausing for a moment.
"First, we shall welcome all the important govt. officials and dignitaries who will be coming to attend the function. There will be a speech that will be given by me. However, I shall need someone to coordinate the entire process of confirming and reporting the presence of all the people who arrive and leave. Anyone up for the task?" Diantha says.
"Well, I could do it," Serena volunteers.
"You could... but you need to focus on your performance. It will be one of the highlight events of today. It will be unfortunate if something goes wrong," Diantha replies.
