I know that many people are getting a little impatient with the story line. Reading back to back battles can be a little irritating after some time. I apologise if any of you think that the battles are getting repetitive. Also I know many people are not used to seeing Ash and Serena in such an Out of Character context. So rough, strong and having such sheer overwhelming power. But trust me it is required by the plot ahead. Soon after the tournament is over things are going to go completely unpredictable again. How? That is something you will have to find out later.
In the mean time enjoy as we enter the last stage of Ash and Serena's anticipated final battle. This should end with quite a bang.

"I don't know. The situation is not exactly unprecedented. But you are right. This can be argued both ways. What do you think president Goodshow?" Diantha asks Goodshow as everyone turns to see what the bearded president of the Pokemon league is thinking regarding Prof. Sycamore's suggestion.
"We are too close to stop now. The Pokemon League, Contests and Showcases needs this event to end on a strong and high note, in order to restart again. People are getting anxious in the Pokemon world. They need this." Goodshow says.
"But Mr. Goodshow. The rate at which the battle is turning explosive is alarming to say the least. The risk to the spectators is too great." Birch says.
"It is worth the risk. The entire Pokemon world needs this. I am sorry. But my mind is made up. As is the mind of the other members of board members." Goodshow says.
"Very well then. It is settled. I'll have my G-Men sit inconspicuously in the stands just in case things go out of hand." Lance says to Diantha's approval as he takes out his pager and sends a message.
"Then that is settled then." Cynthia says as everyone slowly nods.
( In the Battlefield )
"Salamence. Go." Serena says while sending out her Pokemon.
"Glalie. I choose you." Ash says as he sends out his Pokemon.
"Battle begin." Referee announces.
"Mega Evolve." Both Ash and Serena say as they mega evolve their Pokemon.
'This is not looking good. Glalie being an ice type has a huge advantage over Salamence not to mention Salamence is poisoned as well.' Serena thinks as she analyses the situation.
"Glalie. Ice Beam let's go." Ash commands.
"Fire Spin." Serena counters.
"Rapid Spin to minimise the damage then Avalanche." Ash commands.
"Oh no. Protect." Serena orders. Protect holds but when a bout of poison hits Salamence then the Protect breaks and Salamence is slammed into the ground.
"Alright. Iron head. Go." Ash commands.
"Use Incinerate." Serena commands as Salamence grunts extensively.
"Go through it." Ash commands. Moments later an explosion takes place. The explosion upon reveals Salamence fainted and Glalie barely able to keep it's consciousness.
