chapter 31

ROSS'S POV

holly might die? no thats not fair!. the girl i love is dying right now ! and they don't know if she can pull through. tears weld up in my eyes just like everybody else . no ! NO ! NO! NO ! NO! NO! NO! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING ! i love her ! oh my gosh i wonder how haley is taking it. i mean holly is her sister, she already lost hannah . " im sorry " he retreats back to his office. levaving us here to dwell on what he told us. "h-holly m-might -" rocky stops short but we all knew what he was gonna say. we nod. " h-haley im so sorry " i hug her. she just nods against my chest . " r-ross w-what a-about you? y-you were g-gonna g-go out with her" it then dawned on me. holly didn't agree to being my girlfriend because she wanted to saver my feelings for when this happened. ...... she knew this was coming. she knew she would lose her strengh and end up here... in a hospital. after everything . and now , here she is . she doesn't even deserve to be here. she didn't ask to be here. she didn't want to be here. but she is. and we can't change that .

HALEY'S POV

my sister is about to die . i am about to lose my only biological sister left. dad wouldn 't care. he would have done the job early by now. mom  doesn 't even know she's here. the boys? well they're too young to know holly is dying. they will be crushed . bella . i never knew her. but she took care of my sister while i couldn't be there. i wonder how she will feel? and the new dad? i don't know what will happen. all i know is my sister is in the hospital right at this moment, struggling to stay alive. Dr. goodman came back " you can see holly . she is barely awake but we might have to pull the plug soon . " he says sadly. we nod and go to her room , room 313 . 3rd floor . there outside her room was another doctor who's name tag read ' Dr.felmer ' we approched him . " haley thomas?" he asks. i nod sadly. " im sorry to hear about your sister. you may visit quickly. only one person at a time please " he says. i nod and look at the lynches. " you can go first haley, she is your sister " rydel says in a hushed voice. i nod letting a tear fall. i walk into her room and more tears started flooding . " holly " i choke out. " hey sis " she whispers. but i know that was as loud as her voice could go. " they said -" she cut me off " i know haley. im about to die. they have to pull the plug on me soon " she frowns . " haley , you were the best sister ever. you were always there for me , you always made me feel better on a horribly rainy day . and even though its been forever. 6you helped me at hannah's funeral, and you helped me now. i wouldn't be here without you . the doctor said i might have died on the spot. because of you have a few extra minutes left to say ,  thank you for always being there . i love you hay " she choked. " holly , i wish i could have helped you more. i wish i could have been there with you . but i left you and im really sorry " i cry. " see hay, your always so caring for me. thats a wonderful trait to have . " she smiles. i have to smile back at her . even though she is about to die she still shows the happiness she has left. " never change haley, your one of a kind. the best sister in the world. and though you have an amazing career that brought you far . keep searching for new opertunitys that wash up. take them. and when you do think of me. live your dream for me " i can't help but cry even more. i nod having no room in my throught or voice for words. " i love you haley " she smiles. i hug her . " i love you too holly " i manage to say. rydel walks in the room and that ment my time was up. i take one last look at my sister and turn the corner. that was the last time i will ever see my sister alive. i sit on a bench and cry

RYDEL'S POV

she smiled at me as i walked in. " hey holly " i frown. " aww rydel don't cry over me. whats done is done " she sighs. " so let's get down to business shall we?" she asks. " holly im sorry i made you go shopping " i apologized. she starts laughing. " honestly del that was the only bad thing you ever did to me. your a.good person. and even though we didn't hang out as much you were still one of the major people in my life " i smile. "i just wish you still had a life to live. we could have hung out more . i never imagined little holly Thomas to have cancer " i shrug. "neither did i , but life happens. it was just in my story book . but in YOUR story book it says continue annoying your bubble brain brothers but help them too. especially ross. he must be breaking at the thought of me dying " she says that so casually. " trust me , we all are " i look down at her hands. " just help them for me. you'll find that it helps yourself too. " i nod. " and one more thing " she adds. " what "i ask . " rydel , whatever you do think of me. do it for me " i nod . " i think thats all. " she frowns. " you are a major impact on us holly. know that when you die your legacy will live through us" i tell her" see rydel your a natural at saying the last thing i will hear from you , do you plan it or something?" she asks. i laugh. RIKER'S POV

me, ryland and rocky walk in together. "hey holly " i greet her. " thanks for writing that song with ross for me " she says getting to the point. she has to speed up cause she is .... yea.... " no problem holly “ rocky smiles through tears. " guys i love ya'll but quit crying your gonna make me cry and it won't be good for me crying the last minutes of my life now would it " she rolls her eyes. we laugh. " just imagine that though it would be halrious crying one minute and dead the next- wait no thats just sad " she laughs . " how are you so happy your about to-" " yes ryland i know im about to die that kind of the reason im in here talking to you buggers" she exclaims. " geez im sorry " he surrenders. we laugh again. " aw don't be ry ry " she messes his hair up. " its like you don't care your life is on the line " i comment. " of course i care, but why not mess around and have fun while i still can ?" she has point. " so you 3 boys. help ross he's gonna need it. you boys take care. i put rydel in charge of you trouble makers" i  smile.  i can't be sad when she is so happy and care free. i have never seen her like this before. its suvh a good feeling to see her so happy. " now riker , your the big man of the tour bus. " i laugh when she says that " but your also the big man of your life. my life , it brought me here. your life? it will bring you to the place God wants you to be. so follow the signs that bring you to your destination.... i hope that makes since and sounded wise but thats what God put in my heart to tell you " i nod. " thanks holly " i smile. she nods . " rocky , go out with haley she has a crush on you . i don't know why but i think your destined to be together . you have never looked for her, but now you should . it will comlete you future " she tells him . " are you a fortune teller or something?" he asks. " no i just say what needs to be said " she shrugs. " ryland, i know you feel invisable , but your not. your more important than all the stars in the sky. i have always respected you secretly. remember small things make a differance. everything you do counts " he nods. LAUREN'S POV

me and ratliff go in together. she looks so happy on that bed. its like she knows all her worries are gone. which they are i guess. " lauren i hated you when i first saw you but now i have to say your a major influence the last year i saw you " ouch no sugger coating. " sorry that was rude, laur. but let me tell you something. you belong with ross. im dying its obvious you like him go out with him for me. comfert him , making him your everything. he needs that support now. that wall of protection is you " she rushes. " im sorry i have to go fast now i don't have much time " she adds. " lauren you belong with him , give it a try . " " ellington , your one funny guy . you eat alot but your still skinny , your an amazing drummer. but there is more to life than just that. you need to live . take it from me you never really live until you die. go ahead and live everyday like your gonna die. be the best band mate ever. help out in charitys call your girlfriend everyday get back in the world. talk to your family because they miss you . be the jokester . " she tells him . he nods. " holly , i have to say i hated you too , but now i need you more than ever. " i tell her. " then im there . im in your heart laur. im always there " i smile . ROSS'S POV

i was last. i take a deep breath and walk in . " HOLLY I LOVE YOU !" i cry . " ross i love you too . " i hug her and she hugs back. " i can't live without you " i cry. " thats so cliche ross im in your heart im in your memories im never gone " she tells me. " but your my one true love" i frown. " take a look at lauren, she's perfect for you " say what now? i don't question it we only have so much time. " holly you have been my best friend since we were 5 . and now your here i know you felt like a lost part and believe me i felt that way too. but holly let me tell you , your NOT JUST A MEMORY . " thanks ross. just remember me . let me live through you . you know me better than anybody else. think of me and i will be there. " i smile. she struggles getting up . she was trying to kiss me . i lean down and kiss her. i felt sparks go off everywhere . i've been waiting for this moment. that was the first and the last kiss i will ever share with holly thomas . she pulls away. " goodbye rosss" the line goes flat . " goodbye holly" i was crying. i was ushered out and doctors scrambled in. that was it she's gone .
