I just got my name changed! Changing your name also means that you have to change all kinds of information. I have compiled a list of things that you will need to change once you change your name.
Government
-Social Security: This is super important because this is the thing that gets you a job and it's basically your ID for financial shit.
-Department of Motor Vehicles: You will need to get a new driver's license, title, and registration.
-State: You will need to update your passport and/or your state/provincial/territorial ID
-Voter Registration
-Insurance
Work Info
-If you have a job, you will need to notify your work about the name change.
Bank
-Account Info: You will have to change your account info. This includes:
-Checking and/or savings account
-Cards (Bank card, debit and/or credit cards)
-Assets (property titles, deeds, trusts, etc)
-Debts (mortgage, loans)
-Investments
Medical Info
You will have to notify all kinds of people, such as your primary care provider, ob-gyn, therapist, counselors, and anyone else that you see.
