"Hi Sasuke," Sakura said to the tall man before her. She opened her arms and hugged him without another word. She sighed in relief as her hands crawled up to his head. She sunk her head into his black cape, rubbing the snowflakes away. The darkness dragging in her heart had vanished. One look at Sasuke and all of Sakura's angst and problems had melted away.

"Why are you wandering around the streets at night?" Sasuke grunted, pushing her back gently. White smoke escaped his lips. The deep tone of his voice echoed in her mind. His dark eyes gazed through her soul. Sakura wrapped her arms around herself and smiled, she couldn't answer the question. Sasuke blinked as he removed his black cape and wrapped it around Sakura's neck covering her bare arms. "I asked you a question."

"I just felt like having a walk," Sakura replied.

Sasuke laughed. "I don't believe you! Walking in a forest in deep snow at midnight is not the wisest of decisions, especially... for a lady like you."

"I'm okay," Sakura insisted. She hugged herself with his cape. "I know how to look after myself. Besides, the war is over and the world is a safe place again."

"I wouldn't be so sure of that," Sasuke mumbled. They were silent for a few minutes before Sakura sneezed. "Just don't go trying to look for me again. Wait until I get back."

Sakura's eyes had widened and once again Sasuke had left her speechless. "How did you know I was looking for you?"

"You're a terrible liar," Sasuke scoffed. "I know when you're telling the truth."

She blushed and took his hand. "Then why don't we walk together? I haven't seen you in a while. Everyone in the village misses you, especially Naruto."

"I'll only be here for a short while," Sasuke told her as he poked her forehead. "I don't want to lose you. I have some important missions to fulfil. We will do them when the time is right."

Sakura looked up at him and smiled. She had waited a long time for him to return her affections and she could wait all over again for him. "I wish you could stay a little longer." It was one of her greatest wishes. She was in a state of grace with him. She didn't know what his true intentions were, but after everything they had been through she knew that she could place her trust in him. He came back in the end and that was all that mattered. "Go home and stay warm," he requested.

As she made her way back home she wondered why Sasuke had poked her forehead like that. He had done it before with a smile on his face. She had never seen him poke anyone's forehead that way, it felt unusual. Maybe is was an Uchiha thing or perhaps something more. Her inner-self dreamed away that it could be a sign of affection. Maybe he was returning her feelings? Sakura knew that she would have to find out what the poking meant when he returned.
