Aliyah

Chapter 2

Aliyah got up early for the second day of school and picked out her Jeans and a colorful shirt that she made with her mom. She jumped up and took a bath but couldn't reach her back again.
"Mommy" she yelled Karen came running into the bathroom.
"Yeah baby" She said smiling knowing that her baby way safe.
"Can you wash my back for me again" Aliyah smiled at her.
"Mommy's not going to be here to help you all the time so try it by yourself" She told her daughter with a stern face.

Aliyah sighed and tried to wash he back which turned out to be a flop.
"Mommy I can't do it" She said whining and giving up
"I don't want to see you quit like that ever again you go for what you want, try again" Aliyah tired and got more progress than before.
"Exactly you're getting there" She said smiling and watching her daughter try again until she got it.
"I did it Mommy" She smiled and washing her back off with water. Karen picked her up and dried her off with the towel and helped put lotion on her.
"Mommy when can we make more clothes together I wanna sew again" Aliyah said putting lotion on her face.
"I'll make a mommy-daughter day and we can sew together" Karen told her kissing her forehead.

Aliyah got dressed and walked downstairs then greeted everyone. She ate her cereal and made her way to school and got on the bus she noticed that Mark was already on the bus.

"Come here shortie" Mark teased Aliyah who sat next to Dominique.
"Hi nique, Hi Mark" She said smiling.
"Did you guys have dreams" Dominique asked them hoping they would say no so he could tell them about his. They both shook their heads and smiled at him.
"I did it was weird I was flying and then a-" Dominique was cut off by a girl trying to get Marks attention.

"Hey Mark" She said smiling at him.
"Hi" he said quickly

He hated that girls were always trying to talk to him they were so quiet and did nothing but sit down and talk.
"My friend likes you and wanted to know if you would date her" she asked looking at her friend. Aliyah and Nique looked at her friend too then went back to their conversation.

"No I don't want to date her I hate girls except for Aliyah" He told her. Aliyah perked up because she heard her name and wanted to know why someone was talking about her his time.
"She not pretty I don't know why you like her" The girl asked.
"No you ain't pretty" Mark retorted and looked Aliyah.

Aliyah's feelings were hurt but she learned how to hold them in her momma told her to never let anyone show that you are hurt especially a boy.

"I'm prettier than her" She told him flipping her hair.
"No you ain't and you better leave before I punch you" Mark said balling up his fists. She backed off and sat with her friend again. Mark leaned back in his chair and huffed. He didn't understand why the girls didn't like her she was beautiful and fun to be around he just assumed they were jealous.

The bus driver dropped the kids off and the trio made their way into class and sat in the back and watched the kids come in.
"You guys wanna run in the hallways" Aliyah asked them. Dominique wasn't in the mood to run it was too early he just wanted to fall back asleep again so he did.

Mark beat her to the door and said "You comin Shortie" Aliyah rolled her eyes and followed him out of the classroom and they ran in the hallways.
"I bet I could beat you" Aliyah said smiling at him Mark looked at her and laughed thinking she was joking but he saw how serious she was and stopped laughing
"Fine where we racing to" he asked her
"the end of the hallway" She responded ready to take off any minute now.

"Ready,Set,Go" they said at the same time and took off running. The principal walked out into the hallway looking at his papers. The kids were too busy trying to win that they didn't notice the principal they ran into him nearly knocking him down.
"Woah watch where you're going" He said sternly.
"Sorry sir"the two said in unison. Then walking back into class and giggling with each other.
