*One Year Later*
Alivia's POV
I sighed as Mili and I stepped out of my charcoal grey G Wagon. I placed my Beats on my ears as we walked into the arena. Cameras flashed in our faces as we walked to the locker room. We walked into the locker room to hear music playing over our speakers. As I walked to my locker my teammates said hello and good luck. I stopped at my locker where my blue and gold jersey was hung up. I was changing when my phone lit up.
Zo🏀: Good luck tonight. We'll be courtside. Postgame dinner you, me, Melo, Gelo, and Mili?
Alivia😝: Thank you. Sure
Zo🏀: See you after the game. You'll do great.
I smiled as I read the texts. I literally have the best friend a girl could ask for. I was pulling on my jersey top when Coach Cori came over and sat by my locker.
"You ready Rooney?" She asked as she watched me pull on my shooter's sleeve.
"As I'll ever be." I sighed as I pulled on my knee sleeve and socks.
"You'll do great tonight. Just do what you do in practice" She told me as she stood up.
"You say that every game," I yelled as she walked away.
"I know." She laughed as she walked up to Mili.
I smiled as I laced up my hyperdunks. Coach Cori has become like a mother to me. She cares about me, but I know that if I wasn't her superstar player she wouldn't give a crap. That's the thing about people, they act as they love you because you have a talent or have something for them. Therefore why I don't fall in love, the moment you say those 8 letters they drop you off and leave. I've never had a boyfriend nor will I ever want one. I was broke out of thought by Coach Cori.
"Let's go warm up ladies." She yelled before walking out of the locker room.
"You good?" Mili asked as we jogged out of the locker room.
"Yeah, just in deep thought." I sighed as the roar of the fans grew louder and louder.
We jogged out onto the court in unison. Mili grabbed a ball and passed it to me as I went in for a reverse layup. I heard the fans clap as I continued to show off. I dribbled the ball between both of my legs before jumping and shooting. I smiled as the ball fell through the hoop with a perfect swish. My shot is not as broken as Zo's. I turned around to grab another ball when I saw Zo. Melo sat to his right obviously recording me on his snapchat. Gelo sat beside Melo. I rolled my eyes as I saw Denise sitting beside Zo with her Gucci glasses covering her eyes. Hun you're you are not blind take them off. I took my attention off of my best friend and focused on warming up. Soon Coach called us over to the bench.
"Ladies and gentlemen please welcome the starting point guard for the UCLA Lady Bruins number 5 Alivia Rooney." The announcer called after introducing the rest of the starting line up.
I ran out to the chanting of the fans and prepped for the tip. I stood ready as the whistle blew and Onyenwere jumped up and hit the ball towards me. I dribbled towards the hoop ready to dominate.

"Liv!" Mili yelled as I passed her the ball.
I ran past my defender and jumped as Mili lobbed the ball up to the hoop. I grabbed the ball and slammed it down as the buzzer rang. The fans went crazy as I ran and jumped into Mili's arms. I laughed as we fell onto the court. Our teammates ran over and helped us up while congratulating us. I smiled and jogged over to where Zo was standing with his brother on his side.
