Alivia's POV

I was happily asleep when my phone started ringing. I groaned and declined the phone call. A few seconds later my phone rang again. I sighed as I answered not even checking the caller I.D.

"Hello," I spoke half awake.

"Liv, wake up and meet me at the 24 Hour Fitness in Chino Hills in an hour." Zo's voice rang into my ear.

"Zo, can I ask you something?" I asked annoyed with him.

"Shoot." He said in a nonchalant tone.

"Why the hell do you want me to meet you somewhere at 1 o'clock in the morning?" I asked obviously annoyed.

"It's actually midnight." He said with no emotion making me hang up the phone.

I groaned as I turned over to go back to sleep, but my phone rang again. I picked it up to see that Zo was now Facetiming me. I rolled my eyes and answered.

"So I'll see you in an hour?" Zo laughed as I answered.

"I hate you Zo." I sighed as I held my phone up. "Why are you going to 24 Hour Fitness at 1 am?"

"I need some time just to shoot around, and I need someone to talk to." His voice got softer as he spoke.

"I'll be there in an hour." I sighed as I got up out of bed.

"Thanks, bestie." He smiled and laughed as I flipped him off.

I laughed as I hung up and walked into my bathroom. I washed my face off and pulled my hair into a ponytail. I walked into my closet and changed into a pair of black basketball shorts, a grey tank top, and a UCLA sweatshirt. I put my white and black LeBron 15's in my duffle bag with a towel and a pair of joggers. I slipped on my slides before walking downstairs. I grabbed my keys and water before sneaking out of the house. I was able to pull out of the driveway without Mili waking. I texted Zo before I left my neighboorhood.

Alivia😝: On my way

Zo🏀: See you in a bit

I sighed as I drove to Chino Hills. I seized the 30 minutes to think and listen to music. I tapped my finger on the steering wheel as I drove. I thought about everything, mainly Zo though. What could he possibly need to tell me? Did he find out something bad about Kyle? Is he ok? Are him and Denise ok? Before I knew it I was getting off the exit to Chino Hills. I continued to hum along to my music until I pulled up to 24 Hour Fitness. I parked beside Zo's G Wagon before grabbing my bags and walking in. I walked in to see Zo was the only person in the gym. It makes sense because he decided to go to the gym at 1:30 in the morning.

"Hey," Zo smiled as he walked up to me.

"Hey, are you ok?" I asked as we sat down on the bleacher in the gym.

"Yeah, I just needed some time away from everyone," He said as pulled my shoes out of my bag.

"Why did you invite me then?" I laughed as I put my shoes on.

"I don't know there's something therapeutic about you and your advice." I listened to him as I stood up and took my sweatshirt off.

"Probably because I'm not an obnoxious loudmouth." I laughed as I picked up a basketball.

"I'm just going to act you didn't just roast my family." He laughed grabbing a basketball too.

"For real though, why are you out here shooting at 1 in the morning?" I asked as I dribbled the basketball between my legs.

"I've just been stressed lately." I don't know why but I think that its more than that.

"Me and you both." I quickly responded before shooting a 3.

We continued to shoot around and mess around. We made fun of each other everytime we missed a shot.

"You're washed," Zo yelled as I missed a 3.

"At least my shot's not broke." I retorted making him shoot a 3 and miss it.

"I rest my case." I laughed before going in for a reverse layup.

"Whatever." He laughed as I passed him a ball. "How are you and Kuz?"

"You should ask him. He is your best friend." I sassed as I dribbled another basketball between my legs.

"You're my best friend and you know that," Zo said as he shot.

"We're fine I guess," I told Zo as he randomly started walking over a wall.

"You guess?" He asked as I followed him.

"We're kinda just friends," I said as he sat down against the wall.

"He really likes you," Zo said looking up at me.

"I doubt that," I said as I sat down beside him.

"Would you stop with that low self-esteem bullshit for once. You have so many people in your life that care for you, and you act like they don't give a shit." Zo ranted as he sat up.

"I am highly aware of that I have people who care about me," I spoke back not wanting to argue with him.

"Then why do act like Kuz doesn't care about you?" He asks. I know Kyle does care for me but I'm not the type to fall in love.

"You think you're the type to not fall in love aren't you?" Zo asked shocking me. How the hell did he just read my mind?

"Yeah." I sighed in defeat.

"Alivia, mankind was not made to be alone. Therefore, you need someone to care for you and to love you. I wouldn't let you around Kuz if I knew that he wasn't a good person." He said as he laid his arm over my shoulder.

"Mili said the same thing," I replied shortly.

"Therefore, we are right. Alivia everyone can fall in love. My dad is the most egotistical person I know but my mom humbles him because he loves her. She keeps him grounded the same way Denise does me." He spoke making me get suspicious.

"Is that why you asked me here?" I asked smirking.

"What to talk about Kuz?" He asked giving me a weird look.

"No you and Denise," I said aking his facial expression drop.

"Honestly yeah," He sighed as he laid his head on my shoulder. Never in our friendship have I seen Lonzo Ball this vulnerable. "I messed up Liv."

"Did you cheat on her?" I asked making him sigh.

"She's pregnant." He said making my heart drop.

"She's what now?" My eyes went wide in shock.

"I got her pregnant. The night of my birthday party. We went back to my apartment and it just happened. I didn't think about it and I guess neither did she. I'm such an idiot." He sighed and ran his hand through his hair.

"No, you're not an idiot. You may not know it yet but this baby is going to be a blessing. Before you know it you won't know what life was like before you had a kid. This baby is so lucky to have you as a father. Please don't tell me you guys are going to abort or put it up for adoption." My heart dropped at the thought of his child in the foster system.

"We've agreed that we're both mature enough to be parents. I don't think you'd let me put it in the system." He spoke making me relax.

"You'll be a great father Zo. I know you will. I'll be there every step of the way. That is my niece or nephew." I smirked making him laugh.

"And you'll be a great girlfriend." Zo laughed and I smacked him in the stomach.

"Very funny there Kevin Hart." I made fun of him as I stood up.

"It was funny." He laughed as I helped him up. "Thank you for meeting me here at 1 a.m."

"No problem." I smiled as Zo hugged.

"I'm happy were best friends," Zo said mid-hug.

"Me too." I smiled as I hugged my best friend.
