Alivia's POV
I smiled and played with Kyle's curls as he drove us to the Y. Today is our last day in Flint and our last day at the Y. Tonight Kyle is taking me and his family our for a nice dinner in the heart of Flint. Kyle is also renting us a room in a really nice hotel for some reason. I mean I appreciate it, but I would be perfectly happy with staying at Karri's house. We are currently driving to the Y for our last day with the kids. We soon pulled up to the large building and walked in. We walked to the gym where we have spent most of our time while being here. When we walked in, the kids ran up to us and hugged us. They have grown so close to us these past few days. After we hugged, I felt something tugging at my leg. I smiled as I looked down at that adorable little girl.
"Hey, munchkin." I smiled as I picked her up.
She smiled and laid her head on my shoulder.
I held Lenin on my shoulder as we went through our warmup routine. After the warmups, we separated the boys and girl. I sat Lenin down for a second while I taught the girls how to dribble between their legs. I picked Lenin back up and carried her while I watched the girls. I watched as one girl lost control of the ball she was dribbling. I grabbed the ball and passed it to her.
"Hey, that was good. Just get a wider stance next time." I advised her making her nod.
The girls continued to dribble and some of them were really good. After working on dribbling, I let the girls shootaround and just enjoy their day. I was watching the girls when a ball touched my foot. I picked up the ball to see Kyle jogging towards me.
"Thanks, babe." He said as he kissed my cheek.
I continued to watch the girls shoot when someone walked up behind me.
"So you guys are leaving tomorrow?" Cathy asked as she watched the girls.
"Yeah," I spoke as I ran my fingers through Lenin's brown hair.
"You might want to tell her that." She said pointing at Lenin. "You could lose her trust her trust by leaving and not coming back tomorrow."
"Good point," I said knowing the exact feeling.
Kyle and I continued to work with the kids until it was time for us to go. We were saying bye to the kids when I sat Lenin down. I kneeled down so that I could be eye level with her.
"See you tomorrow?" She said in a questioning tone.
"No baby, I have to go home," I said making her look at me weird.
"Home? This is home." She said in the cutest voice.
"Not for me baby. My home is across the country in California. I have to go home tomorrow." I told her as her head dropped down.
"No, stay." She said as tears formed in her eyes.
"I can't baby, Kyle and I have to go home," I said making a tear fall from her eye.
"No." She cried as she ran into my arms.
"I'm sorry, baby," I said as tears formed in my eyes.
"Don't go." She cried into my chest as tears fell from my eye. Call me weak all you want, but I cared and related to this girl so much.
"Hey, maybe one day you can come to visit me in California and I'll come back to Flint soon," I said as she looked up at me.
"Promise." She said as her precious blue eyes looked up at me.
"I promise I'll come back." I smiled as I hugged her.
I dried her tears before we hugged one more time. I kissed her cheek before I stood up. I stood up and Kyle wiped the tears off my face.
