„We're doomed."

Chapter 1

„We will stay here in Devil's Acre for another day" said Miss Peregrine to her wards, as they stood in front of Mr. Bentham's house. „Just so we can recover from all the things that happened."
„Maybe then we can explore some of the remaining loops, which are connected to the panloopticon..." Emma whispered to Jacob, who then grimaced.
„But please not the siberian room again." Jacob replied and Emma nodded in agreement.
Miss Peregrine led them inside, they walked through a long corridor. Emma and Jacob remembered everything in here and just kept walking, while the others looked around, wonderingly. Except their headmistress, who stared straightforward, walking faster than her children. Miss Peregrine seemed distressed.
Then she stopped—and like ducklings following their mother, they did the same.
Sharon, together with Nim, walked towards them.
„You are...Miss Peregrine, right?" Sharon asked while he silenced Nim, who was sobbing.
„Yes, I am. We just want to stay here for a day..." the ymbryne answered and looked worriedly at Nim. He tried to smile at their new guests, but his tears prevented him from doing so.
„Is...is he alright?" she said, while Nim tried his best to act normal. Sharon wanted to answer her question, but Nim interrupted him.
„N-never felt b-better!" he said, his voice cracking slightly, and ran into another room.
„Sorry, he can be a little emotional sometimes, especially now..." Sharon explained and watched him running away, then he shrugged and said: „Well, let's show you your rooms, where you can stay in." He began to walk through the house showing everyone their rooms. Some of them had to share their rooms, which wasn't a big deal. Enoch insisted on getting a room for himself, but ended up being together with Horace and Jacob.
Bronwyn, Emma, Olive and Claire got a room, and Hugh and Millard shared another one.

Jacob left their room and entered the corridor, where he met Emma.
„Ready to explore those loops?" she asked and smiled at him.
The boy nodded and proceeded to walk to the panloopticon. He and Emma didn't have much time, when Myron showed them his work. So they thought, that they should do it now, until they both would be gone.
„Let's see what else that man was hiding from us..." Emma said and took Jacob's hand, while they headed towards the hallway with all the doors.
Emma was about to open a door, when they heard a very loud noise—bang! Bang!
There were gunshots and people screaming in fear.
Miss Peregrine ran out of her room and called everyone's names, telling them to come over to her right now.
„What is going?!" one of them shouted.
Now everyone stood in the hallway, anxiously looking around and talking to each other. Then everything went silent, even the people outside stopped screaming. The only thing that was making noises, were footsteps. Loud footsteps. Something really huge was nearing them.
Sharon quickly moved over to a window and looked outside. There were wights holding back other people, who looked really terrified.
Then he ran outside, slamming the door behind him.
Sharon froze in front of the door, and looked up at something that was even more terrifying than what was happening.
It was Caul, probably ten times bigger than any house around here. The giant bend down, grinning at everyone.
„I would like to announce something!" he said and everything around him began to shake, due to his loud voice. „Dear people of Devil's Acre, I am the new king of Peculiardom now!"
Sharon couldn't keep his eyes away from the beast. This couldn't be real.
„Bloody hell." he gasped, then he quickly ran back inside.
„Hey!"
Some of the wights noticed him and ran after him. „Quit running, or we will shoot!"
