„To Devil's Acre." said Sharon, as Myron made his way through the forest. But to him it was more like a meadow full of small trees.
„To Devil's Acre..." repeated Myron, while he looked like as if he had seen a ghost. „What exactly are you going to do when we arrive there?"
While Sharon explained what he had planned, Myron quietly apologised to some of the trees he accidentally stepped on.
„I was thinking about making the other people of Devil's Acre turn against the wights. You know, like a riot, a rebellion...something like this." explained Sharon.
„Do you think that's gonna work?" asked Jacob. „Aren't they a little too afraid of Caul to do something like that?...Besides, if it wasn't for the wights, they wouldn't get any ambrosia- and isn't that important to them? I mean, they pretty much depend on the wights."
Sharon began to grin. „Oh, I know something that could work. Trust me. Also, a lot of them know me there."
Jacob seemed confused. "And how is that gonna help us finding our friends?" He asked, raising his eyebrows.
"We could distract the wights, so that they don't prevent us from finding them."
"Yay!" said Claire and Olive at the same time. "We will find our friends!"
Myron stopped and shooed away some birds, that came flying towards him.
"There it is." he said, while everyone saw Devil's Acre in front of them and began to bend down, ready to put the four on the ground.
"Wait, wait, wait- you're coming with us, right?" said Sharon and Myron froze.
"I- I think it's better if I just stay here." he stumbled and proceeded to lower his hands.
"We need you there, Myron. You're a worthy adversary to Caul. You can stop him with bare hands." Sharon said and got down from his hand, when Myron reached the ground.
"I just- I just go the other way around. I'll just see you there. I will help you fight against him." Myron smiled nervously and nodded towards the wights fortress.
"You're really bad at lying, Myron." Sharon said and started glared at him. Then he began to wander off. "But do what you think is best. It's not like Nim, Mother Dust and Reynaldo could have been captured by wights. Hell, maybe even PT."
Myron stared down at him, his eyes wide open.
Sharon turned to the other three. "Let's go now, we have a lot to do."
"I- I'm not going to do what you think I'm going to do!" Myron said and Sharon stopped, looking up at him one last time.
„And that, Myron, is why I wanted to get my crossbow back. Just in case you're getting bad ideas." Sharon said and grabbed his crossbow, swinging it around slightly.
„What?! You want to—Sharon, we are friends!—sorry, we were friends—but I helped you! And now you would do something like that?!" Myron said and his emotions seemed to be a mixture of confusion, anger and desperateness.
„If it means to prevent you from giving us right into the enemy's hands, then yes." Sharon sighed. „I wouldn't like to do that, but I want to survive, so—yes, I would."
Now Myron just stood there, speechless. He watched the four walk away, disappearing behind bushes and trees, until he would see them again, coming closer to Devil's Acre.

They kept running, hoping the wights wouldn't shoot at them in the next moment.
"Keep up with us, Enoch!" yelled Bronwyn, when she noticed him getting slower.
"Really!...I...can't!" said Enoch, gasping for air.
The girl stopped and ran back to him. Bronwyn picked him up and carried him away instead. And then rushed away again.
They sometimes turned left or right, or the other way around, to prevent the wights from actually hitting them, if they would shoot.
Then they ran down a hill and when they arrived at the bottom of it, they decided to hide there for a moment.
Wights came running up the hill, stopping what they were doing and looked around for the three children.
"Where did they go? I just saw them!" said one of them and groaned. "Whatever. Split up and search for them!"
They quickly rushed off, two wights in each group.
Bronwyn sighed in relief. "Millard? Are you still there?" she whispered.
"Yes." he replied. "Right over here."
She nodded and laid back down.
They were too exhausted to say anything. It was time for a little break.
Suddenly, Enoch forcefully got up and narrowed his eyes at something in the distance. "Hey, is that?..."
Then Bronwyn and Millard saw them too. It was Jacob, Claire and Olive with Sharon behind them.
"Oh my bird!" said Bronwyn and found new strength to get up, running towards them.
