It was a hollowgast. Jacob's feeling got stronger with every step they took, walking deeper into the forest.
Claire noticed, that he looked a little nervous.
„Are you okay?" asked Claire and tapped on his shoulder again to get his attention.
Jacob looked down at her, as she interrupted his thoughts.
„Yes, I'm okay. Just- just keep walking." he said and then kept staring straight forward, watching out for monsters.
Then something came into his mind- hollows can sense peculiars, if they are using their powers.
"Olive, you have to come down again!" Jacob said and immediately pulled her down to the ground. "Here. Put them on."
He gave her her shoes, while he anxiously looked around.
"What's wrong?" Olive said, while putting on her lead shoes.
Jacob hesitated for a short time but then bend down to them and said: "There's a hollow. But don't worry. I can handle this."
Both girls gasped and hid behind Jacob.
Suddenly, all three heard something growl somewhere behind all those trees.
The boy stepped protectively in front of Claire and Olive, even though he was afraid.
It was true—Jacob could control hollowgasts perfectly. So he shouldn't be scared now. But still, he was. Maybe because Emma wasn't at his side. Maybe because he had to be extremely careful, now having Olive and Claire at his side, instead of Emma. Jacob was afraid that he can't protect them. But he had to do it, if he was prepared or not.
Two large tentacle-like tongues reached out of the darkness, clutching at two trees. The hollow was slowly pulling itself forward, making odd noises that seemed to scare the two little girls.
Jacob already began to try talking to the monster, but failed. The only things that came out from his mouth were normal words.
It was almost there, the hollow was just a few metres away from them.
But then, finally, something came out in hollowish.
Stop!
The hollow stopped abruptly and stared at Jacob, as if it was waiting for another command.
He slowly walked towards the beast, trying to make contact.
Claire and Olive stayed put and watched him approaching the monster.
In the next moment, Jacob got lifted up by one of its tongues and then sat down on its back.
Claire was clapping her hands, while Olive asked curiously: "Can we sit on its back too?"
Jacob thought for a moment. It could be risky, but he got better at controlling hollows. And they needed something to be faster, for they couldn't walk the whole time to find their friends.
He nodded and told his hollow to lift them up too.
When they all sat on the hollows back, Claire and Olive looked down to the ground. They stared right through the monster, since they couldn't see it.
"Look! Jacob and I can float just like you!" said Claire and Olive giggled.//
Myron could barely walk. He just noticed that he was bleeding from a wound on his stomach. But when he wanted to look down on it, he could see the wound slowly healing. The pain also slowly went away.
He was wandering around for quite a while now. Myron was confused, since he passed by a few towns, but no one ever paid attention on him. Only some people noticed him, looking at him in fear. But sometimes it was just one person, or two. And sometimes there was nobody seeing him. It was as if only some people could see him, as if only peculiars could see him.He knew that he was somewhere in the southwest of England. But Myron seemed to be in a loop, there was almost nothing but forest here.
He looked down to see a large cave. Myron bend down and later noticed, that it was big enough for him to hide underneath. So he crawled into the cave, stayed there and waited.==
(Yee haw- I almost couldn't update today, but I did it aaaa)
