Third person POV

The door smashed onto the ground, just behind Pidge. Shiro stood still at the door while the others ran in. That wasn't the girl he loved so much. It was her, but it just...wasn't.

He watched the others race to her side and try to pry her off of the beaten Galra. She attacked them too. She punched and kicked until they backed away, then she returned to hitting the Galra.

Shiro POV

I couldn't let this happen anymore, it wasn't right.

I made my way to her cautiously and took a glimpse at the Galra beneath her. He was really beaten up. I crouched in front of her and looked at her also beaten face.

My heart was aching, I couldn't stand seeing her like this.

"Katie," I began softly, trying to gain her attention. "Katie look at me." And she did, hesitantly. She looked directly into my eyes and saw the tears, and I saw hers too. It looked like she had been crying a lot.

"Stay away from me." She whispered. She stopped hitting the Galra now, Lance and Keith held her arms back. "Go, stay away from me!" She sobbed. She tried to wriggle her arms free from the two Paladins grip but they held her firmly.

"Please," she choked out. "I don't want to hurt you too." Her anger and rage had been long gone by now, I nodded at Keith as his grip loosened on her arms, the blue Paladin followed.

Her arms fell to her side and she pulled herself off of the half-dead Galra, sitting against a wall with her knees up tightly against her chest. She stared blankly at the body on the floor, tears trickling down her cheeks.

I sighed quietly while the others left the room, still weary about Pidge's actions. Once they had all gone, I made my way over to her and sat against the wall. My leg furthest from her slightly bent and my other, relaxed on the floor.

We both sat in silence for a while, enjoying each others company and feeling as comfortable as we could in the situation.

The Galra would groan occasionally and let out weak and shaky breaths. Who knew whether or not he would survive.

I shook the thought from my head and turned my head towards the smallest Paladin. She was asleep on the floor. I'm not surprised really, whatever that burst was about, it sure drained her of a lot of energy.

I smiled down at the girl and picked her up gently, taking her down to a healing pod.

One she was in safely, Coran turned it on and made sure it functioned properly. I sat outside of the pod and waited for her. Who knew when she would wake up, that's why I waited, so that when she did, there would be someone there for her. Someone who wasn't afraid of her...

...someone who loves her.

Wouldn't it be lovely? \\Shidge//Where stories live. Discover now
