So now that you’re a fairy-fox we can fly together and be best friends, no sisters, no twins because cats and foxes are basically the same species especially fairy-cats and fairy-foxes but that might be kind of sad because your old sister is missing and all but we can still fly together and-”
“WHAT!?!?!” Rowan interjected. “Red’s missing!?!”
“Yeah she is didn’t you know that already wait I guess if you knew you wouldn’t be so surprised.” Ella said. “She went missing a few days ago. The fairy-cat sent to watch over her was attacked by dogs and they took Red to Malli when she was preoccupied.”
“Why did he take her? He is a wizard dog, right? Why would he need a normal fox?”
“He doesn’t need a normal fox. Thats why he took Red.”
“What do you mean?” Rowan questioned.
“Are you serious? You didn’t know? You and Red are twins!”
“No, really?” Rowan said sarcastically. “So?”
“Twins have a super awesome special bond that gives them super awesome special powers!” Ella squealed.
“Powers? We don’t have any powers.”
“Yes you do.”
“No we don’t.”
“Yes, you do.”
“Do not.”
“Do to.”
“Do not!”
“Do to!”
“DO NOT!”
“DO TO!”
“Wouldn’t I know if I had magical powers?” Rowan said finally.
“Have you ever tried?” Ella asked.
“Uhh... no, not exactly.”
“Then how do you know you don’t?”
“I just do!” Rowan barked.
“Mm-hmm” Ella said doubtfully. “Listen, you and Red have magic powers and that’s just the way it is so the sooner you except that the sooner we can go save your sister from being turned into a dog for her special twin-ly powers but as long as Mali doesn't have you you two aren’t at your full powers so he can’t really gain that much and Red is more like bait and he won’t fully change her until you are there and she will be more like half dog by the time we get there which is why we have to go make tea.”
“How did we get from discussing my magical powers to tea?”
“Don’t you know anything about magic we need to make a magic tea made out of magic elements to break the magic spell the magic dog-wizard Mali has put over your magic twin duh.”
“Okay..... And what ingredients do we need for said ‘magic tea’?” Rowan decided if magic fairy-cats and dogs-wizards existed, why not magic tea.
“Well...” Ella started, scrunching up her face as if doing some complex math equation in her head. “If you factor in the length of time Red has been missing and the strength of Mali plus the kind of spell he put on her... I’d bet a dragon tear will have enough power to make the antidote work, a leaf from wood nymph’s tree would direct the potion to turn her back to her natural form and a mermaid’s scale for the cup should bind it all together.”
“Well when you put it that way it makes perfect sense.” Rowan said, rolling her eyes.
“Yeah I’m kind of surprised you didn’t figure it out yourself.” Ella said, completely oblivious to Rowan’s sarcasm. Rowan let out an exasperated huff before continuing.
“So do you happen to have a dragon tear, leaf from a wood nymph’s tree, and mermaid scale?”
“Oh, don’t be silly!” Ella giggled. “Why would any sane person go anywhere near a dragon? And as for asking for a leaf, a wood nymph is extremely protective of their trees, so there is almost no chance of getting one. And how would I go deep enough to get to a mermaid? I could drown!”
“So how are we going to get that stuff?”
“Don’t ask me, I'm just a kit! How would I know?”
“Ella. Where would you go to find a dragon?” Rowan asked slowly.
