you and colby laid on your bed in different directions, with your heads near each other's. the song 'i don't wanna do this anymore-xxxtentacion(instrumental)' played silently in the back while you both focused on the ceiling.
"you ever think we'll find love y/n/n." colby asked. both of your focus was still on the ceiling. colby was your best friend since 7th grade. you're both 21 now and never had a person you both truly loved. it was always just him you and sam.
"of course. i just can't say when."
"can you make promises."
"not with love." you both looked over at each other. the only thing he did was a little nod.
you both sat in silence listening to the song for s little before you broke the silence.
"since you're my best friend and i trust you incredible.. i need to ask you something." you said gulping.
"shoot." he smiled at me.
"there is his boy.. and um, i've liked him for awhile now. maybe a year or so but the feelings just get deeper and deeper. every time i try and lose them they come back. i need help getting over him." you blurted out.
"oh.. well what is this guys name?"
"that's the thing. i don't want to tell people."
"but i'm your best friend." colby pouted.
"i know you are bup, i'm just scared." you sat up slowly. you sat cris cross watching him slowly get up. he sat across from you grinning.
"i'm here for a reason. and that's to listen." he raised his eyebrows. you breathed out and rubbed your eyes before looking at him.
"i love you." you said quietly. his face goes complete pale and all you could do was sit there and look down. "i didn't- i know what was going to happen. cause a guy like you doesn't go with girls like me but it's these heavy weights on my chest that i needed to get off."
"y/n look at me, please?" colby asked grabbing your hand and interlocking them. you look up nothing but a small smile on colbys face. "i love you too."
"as a best friend way or.."
"can i say both?" he chuckled. your wrapped your arms around his neck which pushed him back into his bed a bit. he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer.
"you're the girl i've wanted." he quietly reply's in your hear.
you both lay down, your head in his chest and his arms around you. you were now wearing a heavyset hoodie since it got pretty cold in the room and snuggled up into colbys chest.
"put the song back on.." you quietly said, falling asleep.
colby turned the song on making you get more cozy in his chest before drifting off to sleep. he turned the lights off and fell asleep right next to you.
