Fighting

The next match was Tsurugi Misumi against Kankurou. After seeing Kankurou walk down, Midori looked at the redhead on his team. He was looking right back at her, a stare so intense she felt like he was trying to look into her. Deciding to negate the tension, she smiled at him and waved. Causing her teammates and Kakashi to look at her in a questioning way, and the redhead to avert his gaze to his teammate.

"Unlike Yoroi, I won't go easy on you just because you're a kid." Misumi started. "Let me warn you. Once my move gets a hold of you, it's over. Then give up. I will finish this quickly, too." Kankuro replied taking off the item on his back.
"Then, I'll finish the match quickly, too."

"Then now, begin the fourth match."
Misumi charged at Kankuro and threm a punch, which the sand nin blocked. Then all of a sudden Misumi's arm lengthened and, as if it had no bones, circled around Kankuro's arm. Then his other limps circled around the rest of the sand nin's body, like a snake, before they started constricting him.

"I can take my joints off their hinges and use my chakra to control my loosened body. That's why I can strangle you until your bones break. Unless you give up, I will continue strangling you. I don't care what kind of tool you use...
But there's no point to it if I immobilize your body like this. I can break your neck, as well. Hurry up and give up. Do you want to die?!"

"Idiot. You're the one who's going to die."
There was a snap that sounded like Kankuro's neck broke, his head now fell limp.

Then there was crackling, pieces of material seemed to be breaking off. The head turned a 180 degrees to face Misumi.
"Now it's my turn."
It's arms lengthened and wrapped around Misumi, it was a puppet all along. The real Kankuro now undid the bandages around his body that had made him seem like a thing. He was controlling the puppet through string of chakra. Misumi tried to give up and collapsed.
"Since his opponent is unable to fight, the winner is Kankuro."

The fifth match was Haruno Sakura against Yamanaka Ino. "Begin." And they were off. Running towards eachother and starting the fight with taijutsu. They were going soft on one another and everyone could see it.

Then Ino slapped Sakura and for a moment everything stood still.
"Now that it's come to this. I have no intention of fighting you over Sasuke-kun. You and Sasuke just don't match! Im also stronger than you now. You're not even a rival!"
"Sakura! Do you know who you're talking to like that?! You crybaby, Sakura!"

Naruto was confused, thinking Sakura said toi much. Kakashi explained, "That's wrong. Sakura isn't the type who would brag about her power and hurt another without any reason. She doesn't want Ino to go easy on her."
'Rivals are confusing.' Midori thought.

The took of their forehead protectors and put them where they were supposed to go. This time they were serious. They ran at eachother, Sakura making the handsigns for the clone jutsu.
"This isn't the ninja academy's final test, you know. You think you can defeat me with such a basic technique?"

Sakura used chakra gathered at her feet to go faster and confuse Ino, who she then punched. Ino flew away and rolled on the ground.
"If you still take me as the crybaby Sakura, you're going to get hurt. Fight me seriously, Ino!"
"I'm glad to hear that. I'll go at you with everything I have, as you requested."

The fight went on forever and both girls were exhausted. Midori, however, got distracted. Someone whispered her name. She focused on the other balcony to find that it had been Gaara. "So you can hear me, good. After the preliminaries I want to talk. Come to me." For some reason Midori just nodded and when she turned back to the fight the two girls had both passed out. 'Ah~, he made me miss the end...'

The fights went on in a blur. First Tenten against Temari, which Temari won. Next was Nara Shikamaru against Kin Tsuchi, which Shikamaru won. After that, Uzumaki Naruto against Inuzuka Kiba, Naruto won in the most hilariously stupid fashion.
Then came the match between Hyuuga Hinata and Hyuuga Neji. Neji won but in a way that made the other rookies hate him for it. The jounin teachers and judge had to stop him from finishing off Hinata. Naruto promised he would beat Neji if they got a match. Hinata was severely injured and it was unsure how well she would fare.
