Kaze No Kokoro (Naruto fanfic)

First test.

The next morning team 7 was on the bridge, waiting for their sensei, again.
"Hey, hey, hey! Why does that person always make us wait when he's the on who called us up? How is he going to compensate a girl who woke up late and had to give up blow drying her hair?"
"I woke up late, so I couldn't wash my face or brush my teeth!" Naruto added.
"Too much information, Naruto." Midori said, sighing.
"And Midori, Kakashi-sensei is like your brother right? Why don't you give him a stern talking to?!" Sakura glared at the brunette.
"Ah, uhmm, perhaps he's trying to teach us something?" Midori tried.
"Like what?!" Sakura and Naruto chimed.
"Uhmm... aaah.. patience..?"

They were about to argue with her when Kakashi finally decided to show.
"Hello, gentlemen. I got lost on the path known as life today..."
"You lie!"

"Well, I'll get to the point. I recommended all of you to the Chuunin exam, so...
Here take these applications.
However, the recommendation does not force you to take it. You can decide if you want to take it or not."
"Yes! I love you, Kakashi-sensei!" Naruto ran to the jounin and threw his arms around his neck.
"Cut it out, get off me.
Only those who wish to take it are to sign the applications, and five days after that, get to school by 3 PM and go to room 301. That is all."

'The Chuunin exam, eh? There must be a lot of strong guys. If I win this, I'll become the Hokage in no time.'

'I might be able to fight with him, Gaara.'

'Hmm, it might be amusing. Besides if Naruto and Sasuke enter I should too, can't be the lowest ranked on the team after all.'

'I don't want to... I can't even keep up with Sasuke-kun and Midori, or even Naruto. I can't take the Chuunin exam...'

~Midori's pov~

I was out walking, taking a break from reading and writing practice, when a ninja appeared behind me. "You're Hatake Kakashi's little sister, right? I can't wait to see what he'll do when I capture you, you'll make a great hostage."

I sighed, I mean really, this is an insult to my intelligence, but I suppose I'll play along for now.
"Ah~, noooo what are you planning to do to my Kashi-nii~."
Was I overplaying it? I think I might be overplaying it. The ninja didn't seem to notice though and went in for an attack.

"So slow." In a flash I was behind him and roundhouse kicked him, face first, into a tree.
"Iruka-sensei, if you believe such a low-grade transformation could fool me then..
Well, to put it bluntly.. I'm insulted."

I glared at him, fire in my eyes and he teleported away in an instant.

It was nighttime now and Kakashi sat on a roof when someone teleported behind him.
"How were they?"
"Although we went through the trouble of setting up a special preliminary exam all 10 rookies passed." Iruka undid the transformation before continuing.
"It seems that their skills are growing, just like the three of you said."
"But the real Chuunin exam isn't going to be that easy."

Midori was late, quite late. 'Ah, is Kashi-nii rubbing off on me? This is the last habit of his I want to pick up though...' she noticed that her team was still on the second floor. 'Ah if I'm at the room first they might believe that I was at the school before them.

Midori went up to the third floor, Kakashi was already there, big shock. She materialized before him. "Morning, Kashi-nii."
"Midori, don't you think such a flashy way of entering might attract attention to yourself?"
Midori acted like she was looking around before turning back to Kakashi.
"I suppose it would have been, had anyone actually been lingering in the hallway."

Kakashi sighed "Where are the others?"
"Causing a ruckus, the usual."
"They really need to learn to keep their heads down. But since you're here already, I have something to tell you. The Chuunin exams are usually done in teams, however a team of 4 isn't allowed. Meaning the only way for you to enter, is alone. Do you still want to?"
