Chapter 47

I was trying too sleep, but someone was staring at me, I could feel it.

"Psst, you awake." He whispered.

"I'm trying not to be Brian." I snapped.

"Well, I know that, but aren't you going to get ready or something?"

I grunted and rolled over to look at him. "This week is going to be hell Brian, Ana is falling apart, all I'm trying to do is get some sleep when I can and besides the appointment isn't until 11, so tell me, what's the time?"

I was trying not to sound harsh but I was just so damn tired.

"9.07."

"So why would I need to get ready now?"

"Sophie, aren't you excited?" He clearly was.

I couldn't help but smile at him. Today we were getting our first scan, Brian was extremely excited about it. I was, but Ana was exhausting me on a daily basis, the wedding was this weekend, I was afraid she wouldn't make it, she was pretty close to a breakdown.

"Yes I'm excited. Happy?"

"Aha." He murmured pulling me close and kissing me. "I know a few things that could fill an hour."

"You do? Show me."

He showed me alright and it was almost an hour later I got into the shower, smiling.

By the time I'd finished Brian was sitting eagerly on the bed waiting for me. He was watching my every move, his eyes begging me to hurry up.

"You ready?" I asked him.

He virtually ran out the door.

We got to the Doctors with ten minutes to spare and sat in the waiting room, it was full of women in various stages of pregnancy. I sat there trying to picture myself that big.

"Will you still love me when I look like a whale?" I leant over and whispered in Brian's ear.

"Babe, what a stupid question, no." He grinned at me, what a bastard. "Of course I will Sophie."

He put his arm around me while we sat waiting.

Finally, my name was called. We went into the room, the doctor was waiting for us.

"I'm Doctor Frost, it's nice too meet you both, we'll be seeing quiet a bit of eachother."

I liked him straight away, which made me feel better, considering, well, that he was going to see more of me than I was comfortable with.

He examined me then got everything ready for the scan. I layed on the table, I was feeling a little anxious. Brian took my hand, that made me feel a little better.

The Doctor started the scan, he was staring at the screen not saying anything and I was starting to feel nervous.

"Look, that's the heartbeat." Finally he spoke.

Holy shit, you could see the heart beating away. I squeezed Brian's hand and glanced at him, he was staring at the screen mesmerized.

"It appears that your almost 12 weeks Sophie and everything looks perfect."

He finished up, we said goodbye and I made my next appointment.

When we stepped outside Brian grabbed me, pulled me into his arm's and whispered. "That was so amazing, did you see that Sophie?"

I could only nod, I was too busy crying. "Don't cry." But I couldn't help myself.

"I can't help it, did you see it, it was so perfect." I was wailing like a baby now.

"Shhh babe." He kissed my face. "Our baby's perfect, like you."

I cried harder, who knew he was such a godamn sweetheart.
